Duncan Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Why do you think the Church announced a Temple in Russia without saying where it will be? Let's face it the wheeling and dealing, in this day and age, to get it approved will take some divine intervention 2

Gray Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I'm sure it will take a lot of doing. Russia is a mob state, deeply corrupt in all avenues of power. I wouldn't want the job of trying to get that negotiated. 4

I think the same about the India Temple, I hear the red tape is long, thick and deep and for all we know they started it for these temples years ago. I wondering why they didn't say where it will be, if they did all this approval mumbo jumbo

I'll see if I can get some insights from them. The mum is actually currently in Russia. 2

Calm suggested that Ambassador Jon Huntsman Jr would make the best arbiter, and may already have worked out something with the Kremlin. But no cupolas, please. The Russian Orthodox Church has a lock on that icon. 1

It's keeping it from being seized by the government when the Church's property is seized that is more of a concern to me. You don't have any assurances or stability or security there, especially with the Church's status being so precarious. 2

Well, when they get really upset we will just get two prophets to stand in the Temple and use their power to hold them at bay. Nice training for Armageddon too. 4

Avatar4321 Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I thought the India temple was a bigger surprise. I was unaware we had missionaries there 1

There are now 19 temples that have been announced with no groundbreaking dates set (and 17 still awaiting approvals, some from governments; 15 with no site announcement yet). The Philippines now has 3 announced temples that are awaiting approvals (starting back with the first one announced in 2010: Urdaneta Philippines Mormon Temple Construction Status: Awaiting government approvals). So, it could be awhile before we actually see a temple in Russia. It's great that there is hope for one there someday though. 2

He isn't a long time employee of the Temple dept but i'm sure he reports to them though 1

At Kirtland, Ohio, on September 22 and 23, 1832, Smith delivered his infamous temple prophecy: 1 A revelation of Jesus Christ unto his servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and six elders, as they united their hearts and lifted their voices on high. 2 Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem. 3 Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased. 4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation. 5 For verily this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of the Lord, which shall fill the house. (D&C 84:1-5) Still waiting for this temple to go up.........

Why didn’t the divine intervene when an MTC President set up a sexual abuse den in the basement of an MTC, or any of the five times it was reported over 30 years? I believe what you refer to as ‘divine intervention’ is the practice of drawing targets around already fallen arrows. Edited April 4, 2018 by Marginal Gains

Erroneous prophecy.

Well, there's this : https://ldschurchtemples.org/adamondiahman/ Quote Adam-ondi-Ahman is the site of a future grand council where Jesus Christ will meet with His stewards of all dispensations and receive back the keys of the kingdom in preparation for His Second Coming. Only those called to the meeting will know of its occurrence.
