unlikely songs the MoTab worked on

My little April Fool's joke of the Choir singing "The Reason" in General Conference  reminds me of the time we (the MoTab) tried an arrangement of U2's "Still haven't found (what I'm looking for)" at the request of Ronan Tynan. We rehearsed it once. Mack said "I can't do it" and we never saw it again. True story.

Probably the worst thing we ever did on a live broadcast (Music and the Spoken Word) was Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water". That's just my opinion, but... It's never surfaced again, that's for sure.

Well, you sure had me fooled!

I nominate the following for your list:

Imagine Dragons:  “Believer” and “Thunder”

The Killers:  “Rut” and “Some kind of Love”

And then there’s always Neon Trees...

Our choir in Bellevue would sing Panis Angelicus.....just for the choir.  It was a beautiful hymn that we all enjoyed singing.  You can find the English translation here.

There was a time when the choir would sing at other churches - Lutheran, Catholic, and Episcopalian.  It was during this time that the choir picked up this hymn and would sing it when visiting.  We just never stopped practicing it and singing it for our own enjoyment.

I always wondered what it would sound like with the MoTab doing it.  :)

Didn't the Choir do some background music for some video games, or was that just a rumor?

I haven't heard about that.

LOL - it is just so incongruent with any thought of a choir to me.  You definitely went way out there.

Some things are probably best lost to the ages. ;)

Battle Hymn of the Republic.  Heard it once, a long time ago.  Never saw them do it again since.  That brought tears to some eyes. But it was really good.
