Until Obamacare, he refused to provide health insurance to his employees but paid them enough, or so he thought, that they could purchase their own. He also had a strict policy of not hiring people who use tobacco.

They sort of gave him an offer that would have been much higher than he was getting at the time, but when checking on insurance for me, a type 1 diabetic, the raise plus cost of insurance from old job to new didn't come to much.

Could be. Their office is in South Provo (Ironton), next to the railroad tracks and across from Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe.

I just don't remember the company name nor was I ever there.

His company is called Novatek. The one I worked for, IntelliServ, was a spinoff of Novatek that was later purchased by two huge multinational oilwell-services companies. We shared some engineering resources, and of course, our technology was based on Novatek patents. I never met David Hall personally, but in talking to people who worked with him, I learned he's quite a character. Of course, his Vermont project pretty much confirms that.

That's the company. We didn't pursue the company after the interview because of the little difference in money, but also because of distance and because of some odd policies like no personal calls while on the property - couldn't even leave a cell phone in the car.

Yep, that sounds like the place. Fortunately, by the time I went there, the company had been spun off and sold, so I was working for a pretty large corporation based in Houston.
