Seriously, though, a web site is never going to be perfect or even acceptable to everyone. It is what it is. I have a good friend who works on the Mormon.org site, and to him, it's like every other project he's worked on, whether for the church or for prior employers; things don't work, things change, things get better. It's always going to be a work in progress. So, yes, it's perfectly fine to point out where you think the church's web site falls short (and there's a lot, IMO), and I'm sure the web designers would appreciate feedback. It's not as if lds.org is scripture. So, don't feel bad about being critical and picky. Would you feel bad about it if you had the same feelings about, say, amazon.com? I don't think so.

But I'm not ever a fan of the stories on it. it feels like it misrepresents what I see as my faith. And I realize there's probably a great deal of effort going into what stories to put in there. Stories that really resonate most with members (which my explain why I'm so alienated in my ward). Then again, I'm the odd ball in LDS environments. Anyway, what's everybody else's take? It's ok to be the oddball Just remember there are many ways of understanding the gospel. I have been an oddball since I joined the church and sometimes I still cannot believe I am a Mormon hanging out with Mormons. I joke about it with my wife all the time. Frankly I love Mormons as human beings but the way they think drives me crazy. I have NEVER been able to relate to the way Mormons think, even though I agree with them after I translate what they say into what they mean I have learned how to translate Mormonspeak into Bukowskispeak, and that helps a lot. Just hang in there. The church really IS true, the vocabularies and the way it is expressed is just bizarre to me sometimes. I find myself translating constantly. I think I will get myself a headset. 1

"Two clicks to content" is a good design goal. That is what bookmarks are for. The Serve and Teach menu goes to SS, then go to manuals, then click on preferred manual...3 clicks, not four!

Under Quick links, there's a direct link to All lesson manuals, which gets me there in 3 clicks. There's also a direct link to the Gospel Doctrine manual (one click). But I usually use the bookmarks at the top of the page - I click twice on the Serve and Teach menu on the home page - once to bring up the popup menu, then again on the Lessons and Teaching link, next page - click on Lessons, Manual, and Curriculum, next page - click Sunday School, then next page - click Gospel Doctrine/Gospel Principles links. That's 5 clicks of the mouse or taps on a tablet. It's not a big deal since I usually use the Gospel Library app. But it would be nice to be able to customize the lds.org page to show the content you access most frequently. 1

I feel like anything I say which is not generally accepted speech puts me in the "observation" box. I have always felt like a stranger in a strange land. I guess I'm just conformist enough. Just Sunday I got a "deer in the headlight look" when I brought up that Jehovah is pronounced more like Yahoshua 1
