In the end, and sooner than that whenever possible, we must be more like him. … What does it mean to truly be meek? How do we do that while staying ffirmand being bold?
JLHPROF Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I think in this case meek means submissive, not weak or gentle. By submitting to the Father's will we are meek, and therefore receive his inheritance. Those that fight against God's will, resist, dig in, resent, follow unwillingly are those that are not meek. 1

Meekness is the act of submitting our will to His. Meekness isn't about not being bold. It is about not being arrogant. It is about recognizing God as the power, and not the things of the world.
The Nehor Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I think of the modern meanings it still includes the ability to endure injury patiently without resentment or malice and an inclination to not use violence or coercion. I do not think it includes the uncourageous and submissive attributes. Submissiveness to God is good. Submission to other people is more dicey.
