Mark Beesley Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 http://worldnewsdailyreport.com/archaeologists-discover-golden-plates-believed-to-be-linked-to-joseph-smith-jr/This link is about six months old, so this may be old news. Has there been any discussion on the Board about this?Unless Moroni re-deposited the plates after collecting them from Joseph, I doubt these are the Plates Joseph found. But it would be interesting to find some link to Mormon and Moroni, not that it would make any difference. Believers will rejoice and the others will scoff.
mfbukowski Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Exiguous?1928?What's that funny smell?
Mark Beesley Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 So the whole story is a hoax? 1
Sevenbak Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Published April third? Two days late, methinks.
jwhitlock Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Spoof web site; article is fake. Here's where it appears the picture was taken from: http://www.archeolog-home.com/pages/content/jordan-battles-to-regain-priceless-christian-relics.html
Mark Beesley Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Thanks. I guess I don't spend enuf time online.
jwhitlock Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Some of us spend far too much time online. 4

Of course my favorite stories at that same World News Daily Report website were the one on human remains in dinosaur coprolites, and the one on alien abduction. Even more amazing are the comments following the story. As for any discussion of such stories on this board, well, we are far too busy taking cheap potshots at one another . . . 1

piccione Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Those interested in reading the book involving the Translation of the Book of Mormon Caractors Document that I have just completed, I have set up a website where it can be accessed.www.bookofmormoncaractorstranslation.com I will be adding the Table of Contents and Index sometime next week, but the book is complete. If you have any comments or suggestions I would appreciate any feedback. As you read the analysis, you will see the Mesoamerican elements in the document. The electronic version of the book is free, when published the hard copy will be available at cost. Also on that website is a link for free access to a book I published earlier this year entitled The Geology of the Book of Mormon which has been discussed in this chain. The Caractors document actually has information that helps identify the location of the Book of Mormon, and the Geology book does the same.

I downloaded those this morning with the intent of reading them soon. Top of my list, actually! Looks very well researched and heaps of fun to read. Disclaimer: I pretty much only read non-fiction, so this fell squarely into my wheelhouse. Thanks for making it available to us!
piccione Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Since you appreciate non-fiction I have also added a fairly extensive introduction to another book I am publishing for the linguist Brian Stubbs involving Egyptian and Semitic in the Uto-Aztecan language family. There is a free link to that one as well. That one will not be free as it is Brian's work, not mine, but since I am paying for the publishing, I will be able to provide a limited number of free pdfs to serious persons (it is around 450 pages long). It should be ready sometime in the first week of November. If you are interested, just send me your contact info using my email address I have posted on the website.

You need four more posts and then you can start your own threads. I'm wondering why you chose this thread out of all of the threads to post your link on. An OP referencing an amusing invention/satire about the Book of Mormon is a somewhat ironic thread to post your translation in.
