No, there are no published Yiddish translations of the Book of Mormon. A former Rabbi named Edward Isaacson produced a hand-written translation in the late-19th century, but it was never published.

Cool. Kent Ir reydn oder leynen af mamelushn? I found mine on amazon. I'm not exactly sure who their target audience is however. I've never encountered a Yiddish speaking missionary although i've known many LDS people who had some knowledge of Hebrew. :-)

Hello Maklehan. Ordinarily i dont like to disagree with folks but i have a contemporary publication in Yiddish courtesy of Amazon in my personal library. Perhaps You meant Hebrew? I have not been able to track down such a copy although they were available and discontinued at some point.

Per the question on the Qur'an: according to my source only the Arabic version is considered G-d's word and, as such, deserving of special disposal. It may be wrapped in a cloth and buried in a clay urn. It may also be burned in a respectful manner. Lastly, it can be immersed in moving water. When the ink dissipates, the blank pages can be thrown away.

Concerning translations: there is now a Hebrew version of BOM thru Amazon. This is self published and i think it is by a gentleman who was asking native speakers to vet it some time ago on internet. Of course modern Hebrew is somewhat distinct from bibical Hebrew but it would be interesting if its particular "idiolect" translates more naturally into the language than run-of-the-mill English.

Wait first go thru it the book and see if there are any markings or notes if so then write them down also I have a old set that my grandpa used that has his notes in them and they are nice to read. But if it's just a old set that was not used but just got thrown around or destroyed by children then just put it in the recycling

I have not read more than a few of the passages. The yiddish is admittedly very odd and, should i say, ungrammatical in many instances. ...definitelynot native...but whoever did it had more resources on hand than google or some other online program of which im aware. Maybe a learner of the lang.

You might be better off reading Zvi Hirsch Miller's 1922 translation in beautiful Tora script.

I prefer to keep my old sets of scriptures on some old bookshelves. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing anything to intentionally destroy them, or even recycle them. Supposedly they'll turn to dust on their own, but I haven't seen that happen yet.

Usually my scriptures are pretty marked and noted so I keep them incase I need to refer to a note I placed in the margins.  With my ipad I have been transferring these notes over but I will still keep the hard copies on file just incase although I rarely crack them open now.

Hi. I can't honestly recall. He did stipulate that he was not a native speaker. I've found this often to be the case with less widely spoken languages, sadly.
