BCSpace Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) "The Gospel of Jesus Christ is better applied to one's self, than to others." Discuss. 2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?1 Corinthians 6 I'd say part of applying the Gospel to ourselves is applying it to others. If we don't judge right and wrong in the world, we can't apply the Gospel to ourselves at all. For example, Jesus holds himself out as our Exemplar. If we judge his example to be good, then we do what he did. Otherwise, we don't do it at all. We have others in the world crying 'lo here' and 'lo there'. We must judge them and what they're offering as good or evil if we are to navigate life. Edited November 3, 2014 by BCSpace
Ahab Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 "The Gospel of Jesus Christ is better applied to one's self, than to others."Discuss.The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the same whether applied to one's self or another person. It isn't better and it doesn't become better when it's applied to one's self.If you meant something else you didn't say so.
The Nehor Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 "The Gospel of Jesus Christ is better applied to one's self, than to others." Discuss.Does this mean I can stop doing missionary, family history, and temple work? Because that will be a huge relief and I can focus entirely on how the gospel impacts my life.
