Should we as members worry about it? I heard blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is unforgivable. How do you blasphemy against the Holy Ghost? I wonder because I heard even murderers who go through spirit prison (temporary hell) can wind up in the Telestial Kingdom. So who goes to the worst?Outer darkness. No light, no TV, no internet, no video games, no commercials on TV. No one blathering on about, "You should have done this or should'a done that." Just quiet darkness?Sign me up.

I don't think that Outer Darkness is a real place, and is instead a metaphor for willful ignorance. Furthermore, I don't believe that Lucifer and the 1/3 are consigned to anything resembling Outer Darkness, but in fact, I believe that Lucifer is the Holy Ghost, the very thing that it is unforgivable to deny. In this sense, Lucifer represents the light of reason and critical thinking, and rejecting this amounts to willful ignorance. However, this isn't necessarily a forever thing, and if one can stop being willfully ignorant, they won't be in "Outer Darkness" anymore. Ummmm... huh?

I can't remember every sin I've committed in my life since I turned 8.You just stop committing the sin.And if you try but fail to stop, just try to stop, again, and give it your best effort.And then if that doesn't work, again, just try again to stop, and keep trying until you eventually stop.For me it works best when I hate that particular sin and really, sincerely, don't even want to do it anymore. It's much harder to stop when I'm trying to stop because I feel it is my duty to stop when otherwise, if I could get away with doing it, I would still want to do it again.

If my hunch is correct, what are your thoughts concerning the following well-known verse from the Book of Mormon:22 And behold, others he (the devil) flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none—and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance. (2 Nephi 29) It's interesting to note how in the above passage the devil doesn't deny he exists. In fact, he frankly admits that he does exist. But what he does deny is that he is evil and that there is a real hell (sounds like Luciferianism). Nephi then informs us that the devil lies in this manner as a ploy to lure the unsuspecting away from God and into the very real hell the supposedly benign devil just said doesn't exist. Do scripture verses like this give you pause and cause you to feel a slight twinge of doubt about your beliefs?
