I do not know if there has been a Stay family post here so here is the story so far as I know. The stay family was a local LDS family in Spring, TX. Katie Stay, mother / wife, had a sister who filed for divorce in Utah. The reasons were for domestic abuse. Katie travelled to Utah to help her sister's divorce and to provide a place to stay for her children. Katie returned with her sister and children to Spring where they all resided. The husband of Katie's sister, Ronald Lee Haskell did not take too well to the divorce. He travelled to California to have contact with his mother and family at this point thought this would help. Haskell's own mother eventually placed a restraining order on her son after he physically assaulted her. Haskell, to everyone's surprise, travelled to Spring and made contact with the Stay family at their home in the guise of a Fed Ex deliverer. Only the 15 year old, Cassidy was there at the time and said that her parents were not home. Haskell left but only to return and force his way into the home. He then tied up Cassidy and waited for the entire family to return. when they did he tied them up as well. That's when things really got ugly. Haskell murdered all of them but Cassidy, by pretending to be dead until Haskell left, got up and dialed 911 and gave the first responders her uncle's description and of her family car which Haskell drove of in. Police quickly located him near Cassidy's grandparent's home which was his next target. After a three hour stand off, Haskell surrendered.

Some news reports are as follows:

Celebrate her courage: http://www.click2houston.com/news/stay-strong-lone-survivor-speaks-at-community-event-honoring-stay-family/26920270

"Without her courage and quick thinking, we might be mourning the deaths of 20 people today, including us, and nearly all of our children and grandchildren," Lyon said.

He added that Cassidy told him after she was shot she felt "as though angels were there with her, putting her hands over her mouth and whispering her to be quiet."

Cassidy saved lives, I hope God opens a conduit to her parents and siblings for just a moment to know they are in heaven and looking after her from a short distance.

In the video I linked, Cassidy's grandfather offered their own personal family discussion regarding Cassidy feeling like angels raised her hand over her mouth and whispered for her to remain quiet. She did precisely that and survived this malignant act and was instrumental in saving more lives. The grandfather shared his family discussion as they wondered if this was not family already murdered whispering to Cassidy to stay alive. This immediately hit me as a possible truth and I quickly came to the high probability that, yes, it was Cassidy family whispering to her.
