Music: When Will This Generation Finally Die Out?

I don't have anything against 50's music.  But I am so sick and tired of every stake and ward dance or musical event for adults including only 50's stuff and maybe some 60's.  How old do I have to be before I hear 70's, 80's, 90's and even some recent music at these activities?  Is it only my Stake? Chaperoning youth dances doesn't count.

Two years ago, our ward Scouts had a dance for the adults in the ward as a fundraiser.  I ran a DJ business through high school and college, so I volunteered to DJ it for them.  Lots of 80s, 90s and 2000s music.  A good time was had by all.

Our former Bishop even came up to me and said/yelled "C'mon, this isn't a youth dance.  Play the good stuff!!"  :diablo:

C'mon TSS... you're only 10 years younger than me.... do you not hear this tune in your head?

I hear it! Mainly, and probably only, because a christian comedian had his puppets singing it together. so funny.

I think that Evanescence, Five Finger, and Ft Minor are far superior.
