What Age Did You Get Married?

I attend a singles ward, but unfortunately there's very few LDS in the northeast. I'm trying to date, but not so much luck so far. I'm just hoping to find someone that loves me as much as I love them.

What part of the North East, Junkie? I'm in Toronto, about 2 hours from upstate NY.

I was 19, he was 24.  That was twenty-three years ago.  I am widowed and have been single for 8 years or so.  My marriage was excruciating and I MUCH prefer the loneliness of being single to the loneliness within marriage.  Of course, I still hope that one day I will come across the love of my life.

I was 22, she was 27. Next month that will be 37 years ago.

When people tell me how good looking my children are, I tell them they obviously got my good looks. Their mother still has hers.

Who wouldn't want you?!! :friends: (Granted, I've only known you in Cyberspace, but I don't think I need any more evidence than I already have to ask that question!)

P.S. to VideoGameJunkie .....I know quite a few happy couples who met online.  Have you tried that?

Oh, I've met quite a few people on line.  My problem is that none of them ever want to meet me in real life! ;):D

That's really sweet.  Thanks :).

I'm in Boston. Before we had our temple built, our young men group would travel to the Toronto temple for baptisms.

I was 23 when I first got married, my wife was 21. We were married and sealed in the temple when I was 25 and she was 23. We got divorced when I was 34 and she was 32. We re-married 9 years later, exactly 20 years to the day we first got married, I was 43, she was 41. My wife died 4 years later.

15 years later I married my present wife when I was 63 and she was 53. So how old was I when I got married?...take your pick.

I was first married at 22 years old. My wife was half a year older. Two children and 12 years later, we divorced. My current wife (27 at marriage ... when I was 36) and I have been married for nearly 25 years.

I'm 33.  I just got married September 14th.  My wife turned 33 September 30th.  Neither of us have ever been married before.  Don't stress about it.  It will happen eventually.  Just keep putting yourself out there.

Thanks. It's hard when the single LDS population is so slim where I live, but I'll keep trying.

My wife and I met on ldsplanet.  She lived 350 miles away, but we met a couple of times and knew we were compatible.  I think the old stigmas about online dating are fading away.  It's worth a shot.

I know a number of lds who have met online and have great marriages.  I also know some who have tried and they haven't worked out so far, but I think it is well worth giving it a shot as long as one is cautious up front.

I was 30, she was 25 (26 the next month). We didn't start talking to each other until she moved to a different state then we dated long distance; but it worked out in the end.
