You can tell even further when they go after your typos.

Another way is when someone throws out grandoise generalizations based on anecdotes and mind reading and then gets snippy when they are called in their silliness.

In reality most people are only in the church or believe because they want a power grab. They see an opportunity to grab power and they stay in. Like I told you earlier even that is mostly politics. If you are a leader despite what you may think you are not special.

Seeing it that way should make it very easy for you to leave then....

Makes me wonder what the source of your great insight is though as your experience is nothing like mine has been for over 50 years.

I hope whatever you do you are happy. I also hope that whatever you do, you don't attempt to intrude on the happiness of others with your doomsaying like the above.

That does not mean I do not like LDS, I do.

The love just oozes out of your posts. ;)

At the same risk of sounding repititous you are very naive. I can not discuss with a naive person it takes living life and choice to break free.

Wow, naive....not a term I would have thought too many would have applied to Nehor.....learn something new every day.

Got to wonder if you've actually ever paid attention to what has been said on the board....

it takes living life and choice to break free.

You should read Seth Payne's FairMormon presentation when it comes out. Well worth your time...or not possibly.

Mods,

This thread has strayed far off topic and degenerated into pointless bickering. Can we close it, please?

Thanks,

I concede that there is bickering but am personally offended anyone would call it pointless.

Thank you for the concern! I do not believe that I will be buffeted by Satan, that is a fake fear.

You think so?

I've become convinced that whatever buffeting we get is largely brought on by our own actions. At least in the here and now. Afterwards, well, that is a different story, but that, too, will be the result of our own actions.

Of course, life hands out buffeting on an irregular schedule, and what you or I might mistake for random chance might not be. On the other hand, the notion that "we will prove them herewith" pretty much requires that unfortunate circumstances will be ours to deal with, even if our choices have not caused them. How will we meet what life hands out to us? A question we are all pretty much going to have to answer.

I don't think many gay ex Mormons would tell a story that Mormons would be thrilled to watch no matter how truthfully it was being told.

Of course not. It would most likely be dismissed as a smear campaign.

I feel the same way, whenever Mormons promote talks or experiences about gays and lesbians that are told by "LDS folk-status heros" such as unquestioned, uncritiqued LDS General Authorities, and people like Josh Weed, Ty Mansfield, Evergreen International, etc., who believe that gays and lesbians are (or, at least act) "bad."

Caricature much? ;)

I can't imagine this Mormon caring much about whether it gets told or no.

x 2.  Which is why (no offense intended to anyone) my response back on page one of this thread was ...
