Bill “Papa” Lee Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) In Mayan standard time.To judge from the map, that should be CST, and there should be a lot of partying going on in Cancun and Guatemala City.I made it...I am alive! Edited December 22, 2012 by Bill “Papa” Lee

Robert F. Smith Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) The joke's on us... We all died yesterday and our spirits have been transported to a paralell universe without even being aware of it!Actually, we have a choice:1. We are a computer simulation -- http://www.scienceda...21210132752.htm .2. We are holographic -- , and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qngieHWZXcM.Reality, in other words, is merely virtual. volgadon Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I also just received some Dark French Roast Ground Coffee from Starbucks complete with a mug, Christmas ornaments, a small box of chocolates, and some peppermint sticks. Worst day of my life.Peppermint is ghastly, innit. 2

Calm Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) We had been given a bottle of wine that sat on the shelf because I hate throwing away gifts from thoughtful people that just didn't happen to know a crucial bit of info about us. It came in very, very handy when a nasty windstorm hit Kansas and a friend came over with his girlfriend (nonLDS) to hide out in our basement with us as his apartment was just built on a slab, not the thing you want to be in when trees are blowing over and a tornado is likely just around the corner. Anyway, she proceeded to begin a hospital visit worthy panic attack so we remembered the only anxiety relieving drug we had around at the time and pulled out the wine bottle. She proceeded to get drunk and at peace at the same time and we had a wonderful evening playing games to pass the time...at least until she passed out and then we crawled off to our beds (the wind having died down enough to venture out of the basement) for a well earned sleep. She was very embarrassed in the morning no matter how much we reassured she didn't need to be.So on occasion such meaningful but useless gifts do come in turn out to be useful. volgadon Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 'We shall not cease from explorationAnd the end of all our exploringWill be to arrive where we startedAnd know the place for the first time.'Whether on the shores of Asia, or in the Edgware Road,Men's curiosity searches past and futureAnd clings to that dimension. But to apprehendThe point of intersection of the timelessWith time, is an occupation for the saint—No occupation either, but something givenAnd taken, in a lifetime's death in love,Ardour and selflessness and self-surrender.For most of us, there is only the unattendedMoment, the moment in and out of time,The distraction fit, lost in a shaft of sunlight,The wild thyme unseen, or the winter lightningOr the waterfall, or music heard so deeplyThat it is not heard at all, but you are the musicWhile the music lasts. These are only hints and guesses,Hints followed by guesses; and the restIs prayer, observance, discipline, thought and action. 2
