Tacenda Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Such an awesome day at the symposium. Very faith promoting. Maxine spoke about a "hero's journey" and coming full circle. She and Don both took it so I don't have to. In a post on another thread I asked Don how one put's the tootpaste back in once it's out, a little saying I'm sure you've heard. Well Don didn't answer my flippant question, and I feel extremely naive for asking now. But he did answer my question tonight, in a most enlightening way. I think the church is evolving to the point that the Savior would be proud and it's people like Don and Maxine and even the John Dehlins that are going to help make the circle bigger to allow people to stay and partake. 1

But my husband usually likes to beat the crowd and make out of places. If I had known you were at Sunstone, I would have tried to find you. I ran into Joe Swick who gave a fabulous presentation on Mormonism and Masonry. I am very excited to learn about the return of Don and Maxine. Their stories, at least what I have heard of them, are inspiring. This makes sense if staying enables the gospel to eventually work in those people in the way it is intended. It makes sense if the bridge being built is ultimately to Christ. It doesn't make sense if the bridge is being built to nowhere in particular except to staying. And hopefully would have been helpful, just as the presentation on "Interracial Marriage and the Beginning of the Priesthood and Temple Ban on Black Africans" by Maruerite Drisessen that was given on Friday's session, was helpful!I'm glad you had fun and it was interesting for you. It was so cool to listen to people's conversation's during the dinner hour, they are all so bright. I just learn from all of you here. It seems that many antimormons and former mormons are in defensive mode about her return. Their diatribes against the lds church are cutting, defensive and bitter.With don and maxine's return the antis have lost two people they looked up to.
