Was Jesus not a genius too? I know the references that we are to be like the Saviour!

Nor does it speak about being good at business as contributing to being good.Nor has it ever been demonstrated to my knowledge that ability to do righteous acts, keep from doing wrong or even being able to figure out the morality of a situation, what is right and what is wrong is somehow tied to intelligence either save as a minimum involving accountability nor has any form of creativity including in business matters. Calm Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 If one wants to figure out what qualities are most likely to lead us to being like Jesus, I would suggest studying those who demonstrate above and beyond that they love God and love their fellowmen, Jesus of course being the best example of this, since this is what he taught as the greatest/most important commandments.
Rivers Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Jesus showed a lot of intelligence in the way he answered question from the the people who were trying to trap him in his words. I always he knew the right things to say. Intelligence is definitely part of becoming like Jesus. We are supposed to become like God which includes gaining light and knowledge. The technology used in heaven is probably infinitely greater than anything Steve Jobs can imagine. The good thing is that becoming like God is process. We just need to worry about improvement and progression rather than being perfect right now. 1

Steve Jobs will be a footnote in a history book about now-obsolete technology.As for emulating the Savior that is not what the gospel is about though the attempt is necessary. In essence we become the Savior through the ordinances and our obedience and He will make us into geniuses and much much more. Part happens in this life. More awaits higher spheres. Still, part of the gospel is using your brain to its full extent. It is a gift like any other and is meant to be used. 2
