It's an amazing documentary about a pastor in South Korea who built a drop box into a wall in his small home/church for parents to leave babies they can't support. It's a beautiful picture of how every life has dignity. Spoiler alert: You will cry while watching it.
Garden Girl Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I just watched a delightful movie called Elsa & Fred, starring Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer... He is 83... she is late 70's...He is a recent widower, she has been (well, complicated) for many years. It is a story of two old people who grasp life and dare to live each day for it's joy and love...A tender, humorous story...Not for people who must have lots of action, crashing cars, visual effects... simply a story that brings you into the lives of these two extraordinary individuals. Rivers Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I just watched Mocking Jay part 1. This whole business of splitting one book into two movies has become a pet peeve of mine. Instead of one good movie, they end up making two mediocre movies. Those greedy movie studios just want to make more money. Its driving me nuts! And what's up with The Hobbit being split into three movies?! Come on! Anyway, I'll get off my soap box. I'm stoked for the next Avengers movie! 1

Anyway I really disliked the last hobbit movie. I think they could have made 2 fairly to pretty good movies in stead of one movie that was good and one that was ok and one that was bad.

Garden Girl Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I've been watching "Killing Jesus," based on the Bill O'Reilly book and showing on National Geographic channel...I can't seem to feel "connected" to the portrayal of Christ, or the overall film because it is so chopped up with commercials, the characters mumble... etc. But, the sets, the feel of the people etc are very well done... There was an important scene between Jesus and Mary Magdalene where she first tells him who she is... I couldn't understand what they were saying except at the very end of their exchange I did get that Mary said that it would be her hope to serve Him. I don't get a depth of character for Jesus... so I called my sis and she had the same reaction!! We were relieved because we both thought it was our hearing and attitude...I'm sure if I could have seen it in the theatres without commercials and better sound, it would have made a big difference. RegularMormon Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Over the weekend I just watched two DVD releases: Unbroken: about WWII Olympian Louis Zamperini. I would recommend it to anyone; especially teens. The other was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. R rating for violence and of course gallons of blood shed and will literally warp your view and understanding on American history regarding the Civil War forever more. Do not recommend it unless you're just craving some violent bloodshed and to lose a few brain cells. lol
