"Mass Murder Of Christians Coming Soon..."

Well, we here in the civilized world (Western nations?) laugh when we hear things like what Franktalk expresses, and think that the man must be flirting with madness. We look around ourselves, and see nothing at all that resembles anything like this. We hear little of it in the media, because for some odd reason they don't like reporting on things like this (possibly because they like to make Christians out to be the bad guys and the gays and others the victims of Christians). But reading a bit further afield than the spoonfed mainstream media (including Fox News, liberal tut-tutting notwithstanding), we find such things as what is found in this Wikipedia article:

http://en.wikipedia....9_to_present.29

The greatest amount of this is in majority-Muslim countries, where frequently the government ignores (and sometimes even participates in) serious persecution and even mass murder. For example, in Egypt alone, during recent years:

Many colleges dictate quotas for Coptic students, often around 1 or 2% despite the group making up 15% of the country's population. There is also a separate tax-funded education system called Al Azhar, catering to students from elementary to college level, which accepts no Christian Coptic students, teachers or administrators.

Hundreds of Christian Coptic girls have been kidnapped and forcibly converted to Islam, as well as being victims of rape and forced marriage to Muslim men.

On 2 January 2000, at least 21 Christians were killed by Muslims in Al Koshh in southern Egypt. Christian properties were also burned.

In April 2006, one person was killed and twelve injured in simultaneous knife attacks on three Coptic churches in Alexandria.

In November 2008, several thousand Muslims attacked a Coptic church in a suburb of Cairo on the day of its inauguration, forcing 800 Coptic Christians to barricade themselves in.

In April 2009, two Christian men were shot dead and another was injured by Muslim men after an Easter vigil in the south of Egypt.

On 18 September 2009, a Muslim man called Osama Araban beheaded a Coptic Christian man in the village of Bagour, and injured 2 others in 2 different villages. He was arrested the following day.

On the eve of 7 January 2010, after the Eastern Christmas Mass finished (which finishes around midnight), Copts were going out of Mar-Yuhanna (St. John) church in Nag Hammadi city when three Muslim men in a car near the church opened fire killing 8 Christians and injuring another 10.

On 2011 New Year's Eve, just 20 minutes after midnight as Christians were leaving a Coptic Orthodox Church in the city of Alexandria after a New Year's Eve service a car bomb exploded in front of the Church killing more than 20 and injuring more than 75.

On 7 May 2011, an armed group of Islamists, including Salafists, attacked and set fire to two churches including Saint Menas Coptic Orthodox Christian Church and the Coptic Church of the Holy Virgin, in Cairo. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 12 people and more than 230 wounded. It is reported that the events were triggered by a mixed marriage between a Christian woman and a Muslim man.

Considering that the Muslim population of Europe is on track to become the majority within about 50 years, Sharia Law here we come and more of the above will be occurring in more places. Unless the non-Middle-Eastern origin Europeans start breeding again, which seems unlikely.

I don't necessarily want to point out Muslims in particular with respect to this, but they're well along the path of being the most prolific of mass murderers of Christians.

No question this country will end in a Civil War. A war to beat all other wars. I doubt anytime in the near future. But then again maybe not too far off as well. Anyone have anything in their Patriarchal Blessings on this?

I agree!

John Taylor had similar sentiments as well.

John Taylor:

"Joseph Smith had told them where it would start, that it would be a terrible time of bloodshed and that it should start in South Carolina. But I tell you today the end is not yet. You will see worse things than that, for God will lay his hand upon this nation, and they will feel it more terribly than ever they have done before; there will be more bloodshed, more ruin, more devastation than ever they have seen before." — JD 20:318

It's based on the Book of Revelation. It is believed by many Protestants that one day the antichrist will create a one-world government and have all Christians killed who refuse to take the mark of the beast. If you can find them on the net, I recommend the movies called the "Mark Four" movies or something like that (I think one movie in the series is called "A Distant Thunder.")

The belief that the deaths will be by guillatine is from the description of the martyrs in the Book of Revelation being beheaded.

Found it, here's a sample of the Mark 4 Movies, here's a scene from "A Distant Thunder" where the character Patty refuses the mark of the beast and is arrested and beheaded. It takes place in the future United States after the New World Order is put into effect and the antichrist is ruling the world:

Most LDS women don't like military movies, hence she can suggest it to her husband and make it his Idea, she becomes the hero for turning him on to a great flick! Sometimes husbands have all the credit cards, Some wifes aren't allowed to spend money without hubbys permission! Did I miss anything? Are you Katherine's husband?

Pahoran is not Katherine's husband. I think what you 'missed' is that you are on an LDS message board. It just seems odd to assume that an LDS woman doesn't have access to the family money--that she needs her husband's permission to spend it or to rent a video.

As to Franktalk's post, like others, I assumed he/she was referring to Revelation because it talks about persecution of the righteous which we usually identify as Christian believers. While it seems outrageous to consider it could happen on a global scale, systematic destruction of religious groups has happened throughout history on a smaller scale.

I don't think it's outrageous given the Bible says "he [will] given authority to rule over every tribe and people and language and nation." (rev. 13:5)

Quaere: why does Katherine have to get her husband to rent the movie? Can't she rent it herself?

Pahoran

Lol, this is truly funny. Kudos to Katy for not getting upset.

I don't know about Christians in general, but I believe Joseph made a statement about those who refuse to take up arms agains their neighbors must flee to Zion for safety and that the saints would be driven from city to city before the end. I don't think we're there yet.

Perhaps that all happened already... when the saints were driven from city to city and then banished to the west.

Did some one mention "Lady Katherine"? How is she doing anyways? My sabatical from the board was kind of long this time.

Thank you for the clarification on Katherine's status. I'm aware this is an LDS board, but at 50 years old I have a strong memory of Subservience in the LDS female population. When I grew up the wife, (mother) cared for the children, the home and the father made the Bills and took care of the larger purchases. I have often read where many LDS marriages have failed due to mismanagement of finances when one spouse or the other got out of control. Although after re-reading my post, I can see I never suggested Katherine couldn't purchase a movie or anything else especially needing permission which in a lot of LDS marriages the Priesthood holder rules with an Iron fist, I was simply suggesting doing it in a fun way. Or at least I thought it was!

I'm four years older than you and I have no such memory.

I've never seen such a marriage.

Throughout my adult life, the standing joke has been something like this: an LDS husband wears the trousers (his wife picks out for him) and always has the final say, which is "Yes Dear."

Mothers' Day is a major event in the Church's calendar and one of the only two days when missionaries are allowed to call home; Fathers' Day is a Fast Sunday where one or two people might mention their fathers in Testimony Meeting.

I was simply suggesting doing it in a fun way. Or at least I thought it was!

Subtextual nuances, especially humour, don't come across well on a message board. When you have a little more of a posting history and people become more familiar with your style, they may be able to pick up on such things more easily.

When the restrainer is removed.

2 Thessalonians 2

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

In verse 7 the restrainer will leave the earth and the balance of good and evil will not be controlled. The NIV may be more clear on this point. The powers of evil spirits will be allowed to manifest

Revelation 13:12-15

12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

The study of the 70th week of Daniel is interesting. The future prophecy in the Revelation details the last week of years. Those who read the book are of course blessed.

Revelation 1:3

3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

I have been studying the end times for many years. I have a view of the end according to the way I see scripture. I would be happy to share my view.

Thank you for the clarification on Katherine's status. I'm aware this is an LDS board, but at 50 years old I have a strong memory of Subservience in the LDS female population.

I'm 51, born and raised in the church and I have no memory whatsoever of a subservient LDS female population.

When I grew up the wife, (mother) cared for the children, the home and the father made the Bills and took care of the larger purchases.

This sounds like a traditional separation of responsibilities and doesn't mean one spouse is subservient if this is the decision they've made together.

I have often read where many LDS marriages have failed due to mismanagement of finances when one spouse or the other got out of control.

This isn't a symptom of LDS marriages alone--any marriage where there is mismanagement of finances and one spouse has a spending problem can fail.

Although after re-reading my post, I can see I never suggested Katherine couldn't purchase a movie or anything else especially needing permission which in a lot of LDS marriages the Priesthood holder rules with an Iron fist, I was simply suggesting doing it in a fun way. Or at least I thought it was!

I'm not sure how to read this. Are you suggesting that Priesthood holders rule with an Iron fist in LDS marriages? If so, I disagree with this characterization.

It is my opinion that any man who uses the Priesthood for any reason other than as directed by scripture has fallen and has their authority taken away. Any reading of the New Testament shows how Jesus felt about the Pharisees and Saducees misusing their position. Anyone who misuses their position does not know Christ. They are in danger of the dreaded "I never knew you".

Doctrine and Covenants 121:37

37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.

I know nothing regarding the intrigues of avatars. But allow me to disabuse you of some points.

I know of no wife whose husbands have "all the credit cards".

I know of no wife who cannot spend money as she see fit.

I think you missed what it means to be an LDS wife, mother, helpmate (being a term for family partner).

I don't know what you're talking about.

I have all the credit cards!

-that my wife let's me have!

Okay, I will add that I actually do know a few (a very few) LDS families where the husband is firmly in control of all the finances. However, I don't think they are greater than the general public (ratio wise.) The vast majority of my LDS female friends are in charge of the family finances or at least share equally in them. In fact, quite a few of them are accountants and just do everything.

I'll have to introduce you to my Mom. :)

It is how my parent's relationship is, and it has worked for them for over 60 years.
