LifeOnaPlate Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I have an uncle and a cousin who would be happy to contribute to this site if someone sets it up. One is retired but both are active believing members, who happen to be Morticians. That would be quite interesting to me.
HiJolly Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I notice that as yet nobody has volunteered to set up Mormon Morticians Testify.....http://www.russonmortuary.com/ Sure enough, no mention. Dang. HiJolly

Daniel Peterson Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 Putting a smiley face after a rude comment doesn't normally make it less rude. That's why I didn't bother to put on after mine.Normal people often understand that a remark made in jest is quite different from the same words said seriously. In any event, I would appreciate it if this thread were reserved for comments about my new "Mormon Scholars Testify" website, rather than about my grossly defective character, viciousness, incivility, unkindness, psychological inadequacies, lack of ethics, arrogance, and the like. If you would like to expatiate further upon those topics, I would encourage you to start a new thread. Or, perhaps better still (since personal threads here tend to be closed), to make your comments over in the Compound where my Malevolent Stalker holds forth. You'll find many there who will be eager to contribute to such a discussion.
Nemesis Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Putting a smiley face after a rude comment doesn't normally make it less rude. That's why I didn't bother to put on after mine.Troll get of this thread and be offended elsewhere. Jeez talk about much ado about nothing.Nemesis

ebeddoulos Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 By the way, Clayton Christensen's testimony is now up on "Mormon Scholars Testify."It's a good one. That it is ... all I can say is "Wow!"
volgadon Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Putting a smiley face after a rude comment doesn't normally make it less rude. That's why I didn't bother to put on after mine.I know, he didn't edit to add respect.
clairc829 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 That would be quite interesting to me.My cousin is also serving as Stake Pres. at least he was last time I talked to him, we are not real close. He is the third generation mortician in his family.
Pahoran Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Nope. You can't address that question in an intelligent, respectful and meaningful manner, without undermining the faith promoting aspect of the website. And your expertise in addressing questions in an intelligent, respectful and meaningful manner has been demonstrated -- where, exactly? It appears we've been jaybeared again.Because, of course, the quoted assertion is clearly false.Regards,Pahoran
Black Moclips Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm thinking of starting: "New Members Who Googled Joseph Smith and Followed the First 20 Links and Still Converted Testify". Anyone else feeling it?
mfbukowski Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm thinking of starting: "New Members Who Googled Joseph Smith and Followed the First 20 Links and Still Converted Testify". Anyone else feeling it?Sadly, you make a good point.
Daniel Peterson Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 Nice article in Mormon Times on "Mormon Scholars Testify":http://mormontimes.com/people_news/education/?id=12413
Scott Lloyd Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 My Church News story about "Mormon Scholars Testify" is now live on our Web site. It may or may not appear in the print edition this weekend or the next weekend.Daniel was good enough to provide me with some comments for the story.
Wiki Wonka Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I'm thinking of starting: "New Members Who Googled Joseph Smith and Followed the First 20 Links and Still Converted Testify". Anyone else feeling it?Aw, come on...everyone knows that nobody would ever follow the first 20 links. In reality, 99.9% of them will click on the first link that comes up, which will always be Wikipedia's "Joseph Smith, Jr." article. So, how about a "Members who Converted After Reading the 'Joseph Smith, Jr.' Wikipedia Article Testify" site?WW
Zakuska Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Yeah but isn't DCP that coockie BYU arabic hack who wants to launch a Mormon Jihad and take over the world ruling it from the oval office in the Washington DC temple? All those Chapel Mormons reading the Church News are going to have a fit! There will be torches and pichforks tonight I'll tell ya!
Scott Lloyd Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Yeah but isn't DCP that coockie BYU arabic hack who wants to launch a Mormon Jihad and take over the world ruling it from the oval office in the Washington DC temple? All those Chapel Mormons reading the Church News are going to have a fit! There will be torches and pichforks tonight I'll tell ya!Ah, but you see, for now at least, it is only on the Web site. So it is effectively hidden from all Mormons but "Internet Mormons."That's how we bamboozle those Chapel Mormons, don't you see? We publish two versions of the Church News.Add on: As sure as night follows day, DCP's malevolent stalker will take that last tongue-in-cheek remark out of context.
Daniel Peterson Posted December 24, 2009 Author Posted December 24, 2009 A nice article on the Church News website, by no less a person than this board's own Scott Lloyd, about "Mormon Scholars Testify":http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/58364/New-Web-site-Mormon-Scholars-Testify.html
