Popular Post rodheadlee Posted May 9 Popular Post Posted May 9 (edited) As you probably know dad passed away on March 14th. He had numerous spaces rented out for RV parking snd a transient farmer working the land. It's only 5 acres. Anyways the house is sold. But we're having a really hard time getting these squatters out of here. Not a one of them have paid any rent in a couple of months. Not only that you're not allowed to live on a RV in this area. The problem is when you rent out an RV space then they start living on it or letting their friends live on it. I gave them all notice via text the day after dad passed away. They all just ignored it. Now we have gotten tagged by code enforcement. Which is just fine with me except for the part where we get fined instead of them getting fined for breaking the rules. So we're working with the code enforcement guy and he said to file a 602 with the Sheriff's Office which is a trespassing and order to vacate. So while this is all going on we are emptying the house out so the new owners can move in. I know you're supposed to go to the legal route and hire somebody like Fast Eviction Service. The problem is they're backed up for 4 months and it's $1,200 per RV to get rid of them whether there's people living in it or not. The sale price of the house is just enough money to cover dad's revolving debt when he passed away so he could be debt free. We are not going to make a dime off of it. I have had some very unchristian like thoughts involving things like a 12 gauge shotgun or a 45 caliber revolver. So I would request that you all pray that I could remain true to the Christ and not lose my Christianity over this deal. Perhaps you could also pray to put the fear of God in these people to start moving their stuff out. Tomorrow I'm going back to Eureka to go to work I share the trust executor duties with my brother who lives in Washington so he is not much help right now. I'm going to post up a bunch of no trespassing signs and a copy of the letter that says what they're doing is illegal with the highlighted of the last day they can get away with it. The problem is unless I follow every rule to the letter we are the ones that get fined and not them. Never let squatters move into your property you will never get rid of them. We are having the electricity turned off on May 18th and having a Well Company drain the water tank. which is 3,200 gallons. It has a really good well I don't know the specs. I think it had a 12-in casing and they put a 8-in casing in and it went really deep during the drought. Not a one of them has a written contract or a receipt for any money they have contributed towards electricity or what their actual rent was supposed to be. As far as I'm concerned they just took advantage of a 90-year-old man with a touch of dementia. Edited May 9 by rodheadlee 7
Tony uk Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Hi rodheadlee You are going through a really tough time, and for sometime. You are in my thoughts and most of all prayers. I know it is easy for me to say over here in the UK. You need to push through these present circumstances, using the law to your advantage. It is circumstances, and situations as what you are facing at the moment, that push a person to their limits. Physically, mentally and with their faith, and every personal way possible. At what is possibly the worst, or one of the worst parts of your life. You are also experiencing the worst side of people with these squatters. Keep going as you are, remaining within the law, and what God would expect of you in these circumstances. Please do not let you get yourself dragged down to a bad place. Take care. 2
rpn Posted May 9 Posted May 9 What if you simply fenced off the area and have a noise machine through the days and nights that make it hard to sleep? (Give some notice. Do you have to do the 30 day notice where you are?) If the problem is that vehicles they are using aren't driveable, then it will cost you, but you could simply tow them to the junkyard? Have you contacted the local homeless organizations for suggestions or help? 1

Not sure interfering with someone’s sleep is a good idea as that tends to contribute to irrational behaviour, like retaliation…what if they rush the house before they leave? Have no experience though with such things. 1
rpn Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I should have made it clear I meant that suggestion after you've given notice to everyone that was the next effort (Though I'm betting that some of the vehicles aren't actually driveable at all, so people could leave but that won't necessarily mean the place will be cleaned out._ 3

rodheadlee Posted May 21 Author Posted May 21 (edited) Thanks for your prayers. I'm down to only one guy I want to fill full of holes and bury in the desert. I guess that's progress. Edited May 21 by rodheadlee 2

Popular Post rodheadlee Posted May 22 Author Popular Post Posted May 22 All of our prayers have been answered. The new owners will be taking over tomorrow. They have the Firepower and the horsepower to finish the job. My brother who is 9 years younger than me went there about a week ago and got a huge dumpster and got rid of most of the trash and got several other cars and trailers towed out. He got the house all cleaned up and ready to go. So the end result is I never have to go there again, I never have to talk to any of those people again. Thank you all for your prayers. 5
Calm Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I hope you get a chance to relax soon…or at least engage in activity that is rejuvenating for you. Seems like it’s been one thing after another for you for awhile now. And that your and your wife’s life has more joy and less struggle for you both. 1

Prostate cancer. It hasn't gone far. We are doing Cyber Knife down in San Diego. At least its closer to the boat. We need to get it running and cleaned up and bring it up to Eureka. 1

Every male in my family since my grandfather who has lived long enough has had that and lived many, many years afterwards. Prostate cancer is one of the most treatable cancers out there, especially when as early as you say. It is great to hear it hasn’t gone far. I thought Cyberknife would be robotic surgery, but it’s highly precise radiation treatment instead. Very interesting. Chat is saying it may even be outpatient. Sounds like a very good way to approach it. Good luck! 2
