I'm branching off our previous discussion that we had ongoing.

I think it's based on your earlier question; "Can you tell me what the Resurrection

I'll try to explain from a biblical perspective.  Maybe you can also explain using only
the Book of Mormon.

1. What is the resurrection?

In simple terms, the resurrection is the event where all people will be raised from 
the dead, their spirits reunited with their perfected, immortal bodies. This is 
made possible through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who overcame death for all 
mankind (John 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

2. What happens when we are resurrected?

When we are resurrected, our spirits are reunited with our perfected, immortal 
bodies. This transformation is described as one from mortality to immortality, 
from corruption to incorruption (1 Corinthians 15:42-44; Philippians 3:20-21; 
1 John 3:2).

The resurrection is also linked with standing before the judgment seat of Christ, 
where we are held accountable for our actions in mortality. After the resurrection, 
all will be judged according to their deeds, thoughts, and intentions (2 Corinthians 5:10;
Romans 14:10-12; Revelation 20:12).

3. will everyone be resurrected? 

Yes, everyone will be resurrected. This universal resurrection is made possible 
through Jesus Christ's victory over death (John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22).

4. when will it happen? 

The resurrection happens in connection with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. 
While the exact timing is not specified, it is often linked with the last days 
and events surrounding Christ's return (John 6:39-40; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17;
Revelation 20:12-13).

5. Why was Jesus the first person to be resurrected? 

Jesus is considered the first person to be resurrected because his resurrection 
was the first to result in an immortal, glorified body. This event signifies his 
victory over death and his role as the Savior of all mankind (1 Corinthians 15:20-22;
Revelation 1:5; Colossians 1:18).

6. how is Lazarus coming back to life different from being resurrected?

Lazarus being raised from the dead is different from the resurrection of Jesus and 
the resurrection we will all experience.  When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, 
Lazarus returned to his mortal life and eventually died again. In contrast, 
resurrection, as experienced by Jesus, involves being raised to eternal life; the 
resurrected body is immortal and lives forever, never to die again.

The meaning and purpose of the Atonement is pervasive in the Bible.  While the Old 
Testament doesn't explicitly mention Jesus Christ's resurrection, it does contain 
prophetic references and themes that Christians interpret as pointing to his 
resurrection and victory over death (Psalm 16:10; Isaiah 53; Job 19:25-27). These 
passages echo the hope and assurance of a future redemption and victory over the 
grave that aligns with the New Testament account of Christ's resurrection.

I have tried to gather all the relevant scriptures from just the New Testament to
elaborate on the meaning, purpose, and benefits of the Atonement.

1 Corinthians 1:18: "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; 
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God".
1 Corinthians 6:11: Washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:20 "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your 
body, and in your spirit, which are God's".
1 Corinthians 15:3-4: "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also 
received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that 
he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures".
1 Corinthians 15:22: As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 Corinthians 6:11: Washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 6:20: "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your 
body, and in your spirit, which are God's".
1 John 1:7-9: The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 2:1-2: Jesus Christ is the propitiation for our sins and for the sins of 
the whole world.
1 John 2:12: Sins are forgiven for His name's sake.
1 John 3:16: He laid down His life for us, so we should for the brethren.
1 John 3:5: He appeared to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.
1 John 4:10: "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent 
his Son to be the propitiation for our sins".
1 John 5:11: God has given us eternal life in His Son.
1 Peter 1:18-19: Redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish 
or defect.
1 Peter 1:3-4: Celebrates being born again to a living hope through the resurrection 
of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 2:21-24: Bore our sins in His body on the cross.
1 Peter 2:9: Called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 3:18: "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, 
that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by 
the Spirit".
1 Thessalonians 1:10: Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-10: "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain 
salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, 
we should live together with him".
1 Timothy 1:15: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
1 Timothy 2:6: Who gave Himself as a ransom for all.
2 Corinthians 3:18: Describes believers being transformed into the image of the 
Lord with increasing glory, which comes from the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old 
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new".
2 Corinthians 5:18-19: God reconciled us to Himself through Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:19: "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto 
himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the 
word of reconciliation".
2 Corinthians 5:21: "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that 
we might be made the righteousness of God in him". This speaks to the exchange and 
transformation made possible through Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14: Paul speaks of believers being chosen for salvation 
through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.
2 Timothy 1:10: Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life.
2 Timothy 1:9-10: Talks about God saving us and calling us to a holy calling 
through the grace given in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:11: A trustworthy saying that speaks of dying with Christ and also 
living with Him.
Acts 10:43: "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever 
believeth in him shall receive remission of sins".
Acts 13:38: "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this 
man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins".
Acts 13:39: "And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which 
ye could not be justified by the law of Moses".
Acts 2:21: Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts 2:38: Peter calls for repentance and baptism in Jesus Christ's name for the 
remission of sins, speaking to the transformative process through His sacrifice.
Acts 20:28: Reminder to the church elders to shepherd the church bought with 
Jesus' blood.
Acts 26:18: To open their eyes, turning from darkness and from Satan's power.
Acts 3:19: Repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.
Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name 
under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved".
Acts 4:12: Declares that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus.
Colossians; 1:13-14 Highlights deliverance from darkness and redemption and 
forgiveness through Christ.
Colossians: 1:19-20: "For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness 
dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile 
all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things 
in heaven".
Colossians: 1:20-22 Describes how reconciliation was made through the blood of 
Christ, presenting believers as holy and blameless.
Colossians: 2:13-14 "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of 
your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary 
to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"
Ephesians: 1:7 - We have redemption through His blood.
Ephesians: 2:13-16 Paul discusses how those who were once far off are brought near 
by the blood of Christ and how He reconciled both Jews and Gentiles to God.
Ephesians: 2:4-5: "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he 
loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, 
(by grace ye are saved;)"
Ephesians: 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of 
yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast".
Ephesians: 4:22-24 Describes putting off the old self and putting on the new self, 
created to be like God in righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians: 5:2: "And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given 
himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour".
Galatians: 1:4 Jesus gave Himself for our sins to rescue us.
Galatians: 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but 
Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith 
of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me".
Galatians: 3:13-14 Explains how Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by 
becoming a curse for us.
Galatians: 4:5 - To redeem those under the law that they might receive adoption.
Galatians: 6:14 Paul talks about boasting in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, 
through which the world is crucified to him, and he to the world.
Hebrews 10:10: "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the 
body of Jesus Christ once for all".
Hebrews 10:12: "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, 
sat down on the right hand of God".
Hebrews 10:14: By one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being 
made holy.
Hebrews 10:17-18: Sins and lawless deeds remembered no more.
Hebrews 12:2: Encourages looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who 
endured the cross, for the joy set before Him.
Hebrews 13:12: Jesus sanctified the people with His own blood.
Hebrews 2:9: Jesus suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death 
for everyone.
Hebrews 2:14-17: Discusses Jesus sharing in humanity to destroy the power of death 
and become a merciful and faithful high priest.
Hebrews 4:14-15: "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into 
the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not 
an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was 
in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin".
Hebrews 7:25: "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come 
unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them". This 
highlights Christ's ongoing role in interceding for us.
Hebrews 7:27: Jesus sacrificed for sins once for all when He offered Himself.
Hebrews 8:12: Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 9:12-14: Talks about eternal redemption obtained through the blood of 
Christ.
Hebrews 9:22: Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
Hebrews 9:26: Jesus appears to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
Hebrews 9:28: Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many.
James 1:21: Receive with meekness the word able to save your souls.

John 14:6: Jesus declares Himself the way, the truth, and the life, highlighting 
His exclusive role in redemption.
John 15:13: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for 
his friends".
John 16:33: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. 
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the

John 17:3: This is life eternal, knowing the only true God, and Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9: Paul speaks of confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in His resurrection 
for salvation, outlining the path to redemption.
Romans 11:27: This is my covenant when I shall take away their sins.
Romans 12:1-2: Encourages believers to offer themselves as living sacrifices, 
transformed by the renewal of their minds.
Romans 3:23-25: Justification by grace through Christ's redemption.
Romans 4:25: Jesus was delivered for our offenses and raised for our justification.
Romans 5:1: We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:6-8: Discusses how Christ died for the ungodly at the right time,

Romans 8:29: "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed 
to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren".
Romans 8:32: "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how 
shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"
Romans 8:33: "Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that 
justifieth".
Romans 8:34: "Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that 
is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession 
for us".
Titus 2:14: Describes Jesus giving Himself to redeem us and purify a people for His 
own possession.
Titus 3:5-7: Describes our salvation as not coming from our deeds, but through God's 
mercy, renewal, and the Holy Spirit.

None of those scriptures support those ideas. Your Corinthians scriptures says that through Christ all will be made alive, not necessarily resurrected or immortal, or have a perfect body, physically alive? spiritually alive? Your Thessalonians 4 scriptures support the idea that only believers in Christ, or "dead in christ", will "rise first" okay? rise with a perfect body? imperfect body? live again? it doesn't say

" to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection " implies what ? That there is an afternoon and evening of the first resurrection, and that there may be several events called the resurrection which may take place over years/decades/millenia. Personally , I think all who have experienced mortality will eventually resurrect but only after they have repented and been judged. Mind you, I have been wrong before. Once when I thought I was wrong and I wasn't.

What is the meaning of John 5:28-29, 

"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice.  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."   How would you define "life" and "damnation" here?

And does this happen before or after the Millennium?

Well.. it does. Btw..it's already well known that Jesus Christ will rise his believers rise first rise with a perfect body (just like Jesus is also perfect like that and has a perfect body) live again.

There are a few that Christ raised to life.  Both Peter and Paul are recorded in 
the New Testament as having raised individuals from the dead too.  In these
cases, their bodies were not immortal.

In John's passage, Christ is specifically speaking about believers.  He has a message 
about unbelievers elsewhere.

Physically alive with immortal bodies. You might be thinking of JW theology which 
teach Christ and the 144,000 will be raised as spirit creatures.

I don't know what you consider as an imperfect resurrected body.

"Life" as in eternal life; living in God's presence.  Damnation is existing outside
of God's kingdom (Luke 13:28).

There are two main resurrections.  The First Resurrection: This is also known as 
the resurrection of the just. It began with the resurrection of Jesus Christ and 
will continue with righteous people being resurrected at His Second Coming.

1 Corinthians 15:22-23: "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be 
made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they 
that are Christ's at his coming".

1 Thessalonians 4:16: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, 
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ 
shall rise first".

John 5:28-29 may be referring to both resurrections, but not occurring at the same
time. Acts 24:15 also refers to the resurrection of both the just and unjust.

Revelation 20:6 is another reference to the resurrection of the just. "Blessed and 
holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath 
no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him 
a thousand years".  Those in the second resurrection, after the Millennium, are in 
the resurrection of the unjust (Revelation 20:11-15).

I don't believe Adam and Eve had glorified bodies in the garden even though they were
not mortal.

I might view them as the same place; a place of misery; weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Alma 12:16 could also be referring to spiritual death as a lesser form of the Second
Death, where people had not endured to the end to inherit eternal life but rather
ended up in the lesser kingdoms. They are spiritually dead in the sense that they
lack eternal increase - they are not capable of having spirit children. 

"And now behold, I say unto you then cometh a death, even a second death, which is 
a spiritual death; then is a time that whosoever dieth in his sins, as to a temporal 
death, shall also die a spiritual death; yea, he shall die as to things pertaining 
unto righteousness.".

Outer darkness and the lake of fire are the realm of Satan and those with him.

I would include 2 Nephi 28:22, where it mentions the "chains of the devil".

"And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he 
saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none— and thus he whispereth in their 
ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains, from whence there is no deliverance".
