Tacenda Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 (edited) I'm sure there were a lot of dashed dreams of those wanting to visit Maui and had it scheduled or those that need to flee and of course the worst is those that lost their homes, businesses and that Maui will suffer with not being able to get the money from tourism. They will sure need that money especially now. I saw a good deal through my timeshare to get a week in Maui right before this happened and luckily didn't reserve it. I also wondered about Kris Kristofferson's home and if it got burnt down. Mostly on top of it all is the human life taken, I think it's probably close to 40 or more. Also, I wonder if it had something to the many other freaky weather going on in the world that I believe could be climate change. I guess Maui needs to rethink the traffic streets opening up to more exits and entrances. I remember driving thorough several of the areas and now these beautiful older homes and businesses aren't there now. I'm glad the church is there, as much as I criticize I'm always glad with their efforts and missionaries and members that dive in to help. The thing I love about the church. CA Steve Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 News this morning says there are still 1000 people unaccounted for. I would expect the death toll to rise significantly. The pictures are just horrible. 3
