As prophesied in the Book of Mormon, the same kind of unfair smearing and calumny is soon going to descend upon all faithful, testimony bearing members of Christ’s restored Church. Those members who bear well the persecutions and devilish lies of the ungodly will have the power of God poured out upon them in great glory, an endowment of divine wisdom and strength that will enable them to eventually triumph over all the enemies of Christ and his Church.

12 And it came to pass that I beheld the church of the Lamb of God, and its numbers were few, because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who sat upon many waters; nevertheless, I beheld that the church of the Lamb, who were the saints of God, were also upon all the face of the earth; and their dominions upon the face of the earth were small, because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw.
13 And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather together multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to fight against the Lamb of God.
14 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld the power of the Lamb of God, that it descended upon the saints of the church of the Lamb, and upon the covenant people of the Lord, who were scattered upon all the face of the earth; and they were armed with righteousness and with the power of God in great glory. Odd, the rest of the mankind and God see DJT and the rest of his criminal organization and as a blight on humanity.

"In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation"

This word of wisdom is stay clear of anything to do with DJT

@bsjkki??? What are you even doing? 1) This story is the opposite of No Politics. 2) The source is fairly sketchy 3) Objectively, RP is not a good guy.

I'm sad now. You are so much better than this!

Sorry to disappoint you. It’s only political if you view it politically. Please attack their content and not sources.

I would encourage everyone to read your Wikipedia article (talk about reliable sources 🤦‍♀️) and the Daily Caller article and weigh the evidence for themselves.

*we don’t all fit into prescribed little boxes.

I read the story. It's incredibly political, one end to the other. Every inch of it.

I promise to not start attacking the source. But how The Daily Wire continually discredits themselves - that may be the most relevant detail of the story.

Objectively credible stories tend to have tons of non-partisan sources. Could you link to one of those?

This Wikipedia article sources quotes from multiple women who've been mistreated by him.

For the reputation cage match you're suggesting, it would be content from an extremely partisan source against multiply corroborated quotes from first-hand sources. The latter is a fairly strong indicator of integrity.

We could discard them both if that'd help and we can start fresh with your non-partisan source.

I'd argue that partisanship is about as boxy as it gets.

A non partisan source does not exist. My practice is to read from all sources and come to a conclusion. I am fully aware biases influence the conclusions I reach. I try and read original sources as much as possible.

Last I heard Porter’s ex wives were also Latter-day Saints.  If one was less than faithful (one picture I have seen suggest the second wife was not a practicing Saint) and Porter chose to marry her anyway outside the temple, is he still fully faithful in your view?

If the wives are faithful (one or both), who is being smeared in your view, the faithful wives perhaps?

I’m not sure any are still active. The article does state one reason the first marriage dissolved is she left the church and no longer wanted children.

The second marriage was not in the temple. Is a man, who is a returned missionary, who chooses not to be married in the temple a faithful Latter-day Saint in Teddy’s view?

In my view, a faithful member can be married outside the temple but of course, I can’t answer for him. I have no idea about Rob Porter but my guess is he is not active…but I could be wrong.

Me too.  I don’t consider it an automatic sign of lack of faithfulness to even marry a nonmember, depends on the individual (marrying anyone telling you to miss meetings, not pay tithing, break the WoW , etc whether they are a member or not would make me wonder about level of personal commitment, but marrying a nonmember who has similar standards and is supporting you in attending church could be the answer to prayers at times, imo, though mixed faith marriage may be a problem when kids show up as is too well known by many in and out of the church…remember blueadept?).

My guess is Porter is not active either, assuming someone is faithful just because they are conservative and a member of record is a big leap imo.  I think him being a Saint would be mentioned more often in the media as it has been with other active Saints in politics in my memory.  Wiki has him as less active.  Can’t find anything about him from past year.

A politician getting unfairly smeared for something is a sign of the End of Days now? We have been in the “End of Days” is imminent phase then since Cain gave that speech to his kids about how their grandpa is not leading the human family very well.
