Joseph said he sw God and Jesus and they told him to start a church. The Only True and Living Church. He was alone when he had said vision. So I have to look at the good and bad behavior that Joseph portrayed. No he or any other prophet does not need to be perfect. But if I am going to follow someone I have to evaluate their claims of supernatural intervention at least a large part on trust. For me at least, eventually I felt I could not trust Joseph Smith for a variety of reasons. Joseph wasn’t alone in the grove. And the others who were there have promised to impart wisdom to anyone who asks with the requisite intent. My belief regarding what happened in the grove has far less to do with what Joseph shared than it does with communion with Deity 4

No other mortal was there with him. 14 hours ago, let’s roll said: And the others who were there have promised to impart wisdom to anyone who asks with the requisite intent. Even Christ lost followers because of difficult issues, John 6:66 From that time on many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him. (biblehub.com) I don't think the comparison is accurate. The passage you sight was over what Jesus taught not over whether or not he exhibited behavior that made him untrustworthy like I have concluded Joseph Smith did.

Obviously, the correct answer to 9 × 10 isn’t 91. And all his students ridiculed him. Einstein waited for everyone to be silent and said: “Despite the fact that I analyzed nine problems correctly, no one congratulated me. But when I made one mistake, everyone started laughing. This means that even if a person is successful, society will notice his slightest mistake. And they'll like that. So don't let criticism destroy your dreams. The only person who never makes a mistake is someone who does nothing." It is not my position that Joseph Smith made one mistake. I think he had a long pattern of untrustworthy behavior starting with the seer stone and treasure hunting. Edited February 7, 2022 by Teancum

It is supposed to be the twist ending in these stories. Okay, I can save this. Then Albert said that if there is a God “why did he let me make that mistake?” Then a Marine got up and punched him and said, “God sent me.” Albert Einstein, well known for his work in teaching elementary school level mathematics. 1
Calm Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) A little tidbit…seeing if I can find an original source for the story above and found this one instead: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2656234/The-day-Einstein-caught-student-Letters-reveal-physicist-admitted-got-sums-wrong-23-year-old-spotted-error.html Another Einstein quote likely false: https://qz.com/113811/for-almost-a-century-people-have-been-misquoting-einsteins-biggest-mistake/ https://www.history.com/news/here-are-6-things-albert-einstein-never-said https://interestingengineering.com/13-inspiring-einstein-quotes-never-actually-said-by-einstein Quote Albert Einstein once wrote on a chalkboard… My guess is this became a thing in late Aug, early Sep 2021. Whether it was somewhere google couldn’t see it before then, I don’t know. I searched on what I thought would most likely not be altered…”Don’t let simple criticism destroy your dreams”, but also Einstein and “9 x 10”. So I highly doubt it was Einstein who did this, if it was ever more than an inspiring story/parable. Edited February 6, 2022 by Calm 2
