Ring out Wild Bells

We could have put in a song that as also about nuclear war. "Do You Hear What I Hear?" is a song written during the Cuban Missile Crisis by a WWII Nazi army deserter. Much of the imagery in the song have dual meanings and the pleadings of the song had to him specific, exigent importance.

Christmas, the time of peace on earth and good will, hovered just a few months away and a record producer had asked him to write a Christmas song. Then on his way home, Noel saw two mothers taking their babies for a walk in their strollers. He watched the two babies looking at each other and smiling and his mood lifted from despair to hope. Noel’s mind turned to poetry and babies and lambs. By the time he arrived home, he had composed the lyrics of Do You Hear What I Hear? in his head."

PS: I admit when I first read the thread I was thinking about the hymn, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day which is one of my favorite Christmas hymns and so was confused thinking, "dude, it's a great song!". Confusion cleared up though. Ring Out Wild Bells is meh.

Maybe it’s the vehemence with which the opinion was expressed. It fairly calls out for pushback.
