bsjkki Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) I don't even know where my hard copy is. We use our phones. Edited January 22, 2020 by bsjkki 2
Hamba Tuhan Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I read the scriptures on my laptop. I read the paper manual and write in it. And usually my dinner plate is in between the two ... 3
Amulek Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 We use both. The online version mostly when trying to figure out where we are supposed to be at in terms of reading, and the physical copy more when doing things like preparing for FHE. 2
Ahab Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 My wife and I read the scriptures and lessons together from the main church website while sitting on our electronically controlled reclining leather loveseat and reading from our big screen TV when at home, and when away from our home we use our phones to show these things. No more paper! Here in the Pacific Northwest of the US we value being green!
Rain Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 We use our phones only. We didn't even accept a paper copy because we knew we wouldn't use them and I can't stand making them into more clutter. We got some pressure about not taking the paper copies, but we resisted. 3

Why pressure? That makes no sense, unless the ward bought enough copies of it for every active family and doesn't want to be stuck with a pile of them in the clerk's office?

The ward did ask if we wanted one ahead of time and we said no then.

Boanerges Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 (edited) I have a long commute and listen to the weekly suggested readings on my phone while driving (just like I listen to audiobooks). I sometimes listen more than once, and often back up and relisten to certain passages as they strike me. For Christmas I received the Maxwell Institute Study Edition of the BoM. I read/study from it as well and appreciate the insights. I like to have the book and the online version on my computer screen open at the same time. I like to think I feast upon the Word, but I'm not sure I really do even though I got through each week's suggested readings at least twice, usually 3 or 4 times and during the actual reading part I do take my time and check cross references and ponder. I also usually have some down time here or there during the week, such as sitting in a waiting room and I am likely to read on my phone during that time. FWIW I started this habit last year with the NT and thoroughly enjoyed it and thought I got a lot out of it. For the Bible I use the Oxford Annotated Study Bible as well as the church's online version and sites such as Biblehub and Bible Gateway to compare translations.
