For all of you Android users out there, ScripturePlus is finally available (and, of course, it's free).

Cool!  I'll download it tonight.

Last night after dinner I went down into our basement and lit a fire in our newly-installed wood stove.  Once the fire was nice and cheery, I turned the TV on, navigated to the YouTube channel for Book of Mormon Central, and watched several video presentations.  My ten-year-old son came down and sat and watched several of these.  He then turned to me and said "Wow.  I've actually had questions about some of this stuff.  It's interesting."

My wife then came down and she watched a few.  We then discussed incorporating the app and the videos into our family scripture study, and she was enthusiastic about it.

Well done, BOMC!  Bit by bit, you're making a difference.

Thanks,

-Smac

Not sour grapes but my android computer is 1 year old and it says it is not compatible with ScripturePlus.  I looked at it again it seems it is just for smartphones.

Yeah. As far as I know, it is only developed for mobile devices. It will work on tablets but not desktop operating systems.

I've been using a computer to watch TV shows and movies for quite a while now but it seems this is becoming outdated as the old way to do it.  I think this is the next step and I'll be trying it soon https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1512596-REG/nvidia_945_12897_2500_101_shield_tv_pro_hdr.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_o-03OuD5wIViNlkCh1nlgfjEAQYAiABEgLAfvD_BwE

Supposedly all Android apps will work with it and I'll be able to access my TV shows and movies from my home server with the Plex app.  I'm now using the desktop version on my computer.

I'm assuming the ScripturePlus app will work on this too, so that I'll be able to use our big screen instead of being limited to the relatively very small screen on my phone.

Nemesis had me banned for 30 days.  Said I "abused" somebody. Didn't say who and didn't say how.  That's what happens I guess when you give someone like Nemesis control of the board functions.  I am as fine as ever. Happy New Year to everybody!

Nemesis is the owner. No one gave him control of the functions, he pays for it all. We are his guests.
And he has 15 years experience in keeping the board relatively civil, which impresses me given the variety of people we get.

Well I agree, but it's not too cool to compliment the Boss- makes me feel like a "kiss up"  ;)

So now I have a quandary.  Stay cool or give you a rep point?

LOL- what the heck!??!  ;)

I don't know that I'd spend money on that now. I'm looking forward to 5G LTE internet, upon which I will probably use some cheap streaming service like Sling, and might be required to buy a specific 5G modem/router to get it, but thanks for the heads up. Let us know how you like it.

Wireless internet access is something different than what I was talking about.  As I understand it, the device I was talking about is something that allows a TV to act more like a phone and use apps,  rather than as a computer monitor that uses a computer with computer programs to access media files.  For me that would mean my home entertainment center won't need a computer or the Windows operating system... or continuous Windows updates... to open my Plex program on my computer to access my media files.  And it will also mean I won''t need to continually upgrade my media computer with more and more RAM and faster processors and mother boards, etc, which can be expensive.  I'll still use my media server and this device will access those files for me without a computer.

One of my sons is a tech guru and said he is planning to get this thing for me so we'll see how long it takes him.  I'm guessing maybe for Father's day or maybe next Christmas. :)
