Sp YouTube has no control of its content because they are a public forum?  Someone has a right to incite violence?  How about ponography?  They are forced to broadcast hate speech?  If Russians want to disseminate lase political propaganda, they have no control over that?

Or is it just what speech you think should be broadcasted?  He doesn't really explain what the peramators are.  Basically he is saying there are no peramators if you are a public forum..  Or maybe he is twisting the 1994 law into something that was never intended.

I guess the Supreme Court will decide this as well.  His one sided speech hasn't convinced me he is going to necessarily win.

But, as always, things are a little more complicated when it comes to government controlled vs private ownership. I’ve been reading case law and court decisions and they are just now catching up to the digital age.  Very thorough review of these issues even if I don’t necessarily agree completely with the conclusions.https://object.cato.org/sites/cato.org/files/pubs/pdf/pa_865.pdf

The community standards are too subjective and don’t provide a level playing field of ideas. Where is the violation in the church’s link?

An even bigger problem just now is the strong tendency of the Tech Oligopoly to dictate what we may say or read on YouTube, Twitter, Google, Facebook, etc.  The internet social media companies and video platforms are now so woke that they are denying all of us our rights in the new, digital townsquare or public marketplace.  The Tech Overlords do not care about the Constitution and may need to be brought to heel by both the Congress and the Supreme Court.  We already have discrimination in the public marketplace of ideas.  I can see anti-trust violations all over the place.

Actually, I think it violates the standards of some liberal trolling group, who has decided to try to control what the Church does. It is highly probable the ban was simply triggered by this group deciding to flag this post or link. That triggers an automatic block until some human reviewer possibly decides to override it. It is just one more annoying thing in this age of left-controlled media. OK, actually a little more than annoying. It is somewhat alarming. There exists fewer and fewer public outlets for conservative viewpoints/speech. Any large public medium simply gets bought up by leftist ideologues or others with interests in silencing independent and conservative content. The left has learned to manipulate capitalist ideals... it's scarily ironic.

Yes, and free speech and free press no longer exist in Europe -- at least not to the extent it still does here, for the nonce.

I had not realized until this year how different from Europe our free speech laws are. It made me even more grateful for the Bill of Rights. It is easy to see how quickly 'rights' could disappear if left to the popular/majority rule vote. I am always grateful for my history teacher that explained that a true democracy is 'mob rule.' So true. I am disheartened that so many want to do away with the electoral college for this reason. If this happens, we will all be ruled by the coasts and the needs of the smaller, rural states will quickly be forgotten. Even in rural states, the large cities dominate and the needs of the smaller communities are being overshadowed. I am grateful for fundamental liberties that cannot be stripped away by majority rule.
