Thank you for sharing your interpretations of scripture and personal opinions on the history and functions of the priesthood.

I have no interest instructing you, except for one example  ===>>>>
The ban on the priesthood was not based on "skin colour" but lineage.  An individual could have black skin and hold the priesthood (Pacific Islands), or  have white skin but would not qualify to hold it (Brazil)

Wow, could you be anymore condescending?  BTW, CFR on white skin people being denied the Mormon priesthood.  The priesthood ban was by race.  Hence, it was a racist policy.

I issued a CFR on that, too. The response did not satisfy the CFR.

There was a guy in our ward who did genealogy and found out he had African heritage a few generations back. He asked if it would be a problem and was told it would not. Given that most of us come out of Africa according to current research, it was all a bit of a farce really, but wholly explainable, if not ethically justifiable when considering the wider American story of racism and slavery.

Not sure which thread this update belongs in, but I will put it in this one.  One of the recent bills California governor Jerry Brown recently signed is making it illegal for nondisclosure agreements when it comes to sexual predators.  I think what this means is that the church, as well as other organizations and individuals, have to be transparent in all settlements on these kinds of issues.  Too many people and too many organizations have hidden from the public terrible crimes because they simply had the money and power to hide their actions.  It has allowed predators to continue doing horrible things and go unpunished.   A step forward in my opinion.
