I know that a lot of people have the attitude that once the president is elected, you support them and respect them because of the office they hold.  Kind of a 'if you don't make the right choice then work on making the choice right' kind of thing.

Well,  you kind of have to work with what you got.

All the more challenging when what you got ain't much.

If this was the primary reason, I would expect Obama would have gotten higher ratings in Utah than he did.

I wish this is the most common reason, but I doubt it.  I think it pushes the number higher a bit.

I think it’s connected to the party. A Trump being republican and Utah being republican, kind of thing.

I agree that the phenomenon doesn’t really seem to cross party lines.

That I can definitely agree with.  A relative didn't like him, but once he was party candidate it was back him up or shut up.  He is an extreme case of loyalty, but I can see enough that tend even slightly that way to draw up numbers.

It's interesting to me that he has such high approval ratings despite his many known adulterous affairs and his penchant for lewdness and being a peeping Tom.

But I suppose if they didn't care about that, they won't care about recent revelations of his affair with a porn star while Melania was home with their newborn baby.

I assume Bill Clinton will get an apology from Utah and Idaho Republicans any day now. Glad I am not in the position of having to justify different treatment of similar behavior through transparently facile arguments. I am still in favor of impeaching both of them.

well, I'll PM you. I can't for some reason post pics on here! ack

You have two options using the "Insert other media" button to the right.

1. Using the button, upload a pic from your machine to the site, then link it to your post

2. If the pic has a URL (you know, http://... etc), use the button, or copy/paste the link directly to your post.

Otherwise, you can also go to the image itself on the web, right-click on it, select "Copy" and then paste it to your post.
