Robert F. Smith
According to the latest CDC data, Utah has the lowest overall rate of cancer in the USA (127.9 deaths per 100,000 persons): http://www.businessinsider.com/map-of-cancer-rates-in-the-united-states-2017-5/#the-page-also-provided-breakdowns-of-the-leading-new-cancer-cases-alongside-the-10-types-of-cancer-that-caused-the-highest-rate-of-cancer-deaths-in-2013-lung-and-bronchial-cancer-was-the-leading-cause-of-cancer-deaths-for-both-men-and-women-while-the-highest-rates-of-new-cancer-were-breast-for-women-and-prostate-for-men-7 . strappinglad
The cynic in me suggests that a large chunk of the population in Utah which lives along the I15 corridor , were inoculated for decades by Geneva Steel. 3 Link to comment

Why is that? Utah does not have the lowest overall rate of cancer in the USA. However, it does have the lowest death rate related to cancer. When looking at the data separating out the different types of cancer, it appears that Utah has a significantly lower rate of lung and bronchial cancer. ..the most deadly cancers. I would say that the low rate of smoking in Utah is a huge factor in this. 2 Link to comment
