Robert F. Smith Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 19 hours ago, Duncan said: I've heard it said more than a few times that we don't get to heaven by the callings we have. My question is if we don't then does it matter how well we perform them here? if nothing comes from them then why do a good job when a shoddy job will do? What is meant by that is that it doesn't matter at all which calling you have, be it Apostle or Primary Teacher. All callings are equal in the blessings which come from them for you personally, and for those whom you bless by your caring and spirited effort. At the last and Great Judgment, it will not matter at all what calling you have, or how long you have served. Only one thing will determine whether we hear "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," and that is the quality of our stewardship. Of course, those with high callings need to beware of sloth. For, "Where much is given, much is expected" (Luke 12:48). Psalm 84:10, " I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness."

But I would imagine in the atheistic worldview the ultimate destiny of little girls and boys is to live lives of no eternal significance and then become mouldering corpses that will eventually disintegrate into dust -- nothing lost, nothing gained. ouch, thank goodness we are Mormons right? What an elitist and ugly attitude.

How is what I wrote an example of an elitist and ugly attitude? What I said is nothing more than a pure statement of fact. I'm quite sure believing Latter-day Saints would agree with what I said about their beliefs, and the atheistic elite would also agree agree with what I said about their outlook because they believe life and existence are purely accidental and that that the intelligence that exists within man comes extinction at death. By the way, my curt post was written in response to what I took to be a sarcastic comment of your own. You know what they say about glass houses?

You know what they say about glass houses? My comment was by no way sarcastic. I remember one of my first items shelved ... going to the temple and making secret oaths and remember reading about the Gadianton robbers and their secret oaths. Look today at the secret inner ring of those with their second anointings. Look today at a Church excelling at serving mammon and their secret finances. Are GA's meeting Satan at the cross roads and signing non-disclosure statements? Even today secret courts of discipline. It's said Satan is the father of all lies and is the one who hides in the dark. Look at a Church today, still lying to it membership. No I'm not being sarcastic in the least when I ask if God is pleased with a Church that continues, in the 21st century to indoctrinate children from the youngest ages into such and organization. As one steps back from a myopic view of the Church a valid question becomes .... is this the whore of the Earth? Boddieaware, I sure hope you don't have anyone in your family or extended family that you care about who fall from the Church and become unworthy of your worthy Patriarchal family. Per the doctrine of these Exalted Patriarchal families, their fate is much worse than returning to the dust of the earth ... it is an eternity separation from their loved ones. But somehow this separation does not seem to bother the winners of the game.

You brought some needed fresh air but you pushed the edge all the time playing Innocent, ittol was a good gig for all until you crossed that hard to distinguish line.
