Lyle Jeffs is being held in prison until his trial because the judge labeled him a flight risk. This is good news.

For a modern example, think of the Branch Davidians and David Koresh.  That didn't go so well.

Wow. I didn't realize how bad things have gotten down there.

But it sounds to me like they might have enough evidence to get most of those responsible for the diversion of welfare money, which might put away enough of the leadership that the group just falls apart. I believe time is growing short for this sect, and that the leadership will fall under the weight of its own crimes. It seems like the sect is already beginning to unravel. A strategy to keep going after the leadership doing Jeff's bidding should eventually stop this nonsense. If the disaffected knew they had someplace to go, I think this sect will collapse under its own weight.

I hope they all find peace, and get rid of the beast within (corrupt leaders).  The flood recently may have helped them see the outsiders aren't the evil people they've been taught to believe.  I'm saddened by the loss of lives, but hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel and this will be something that will show there are good people that are not FLDS or polygamists.  

I watched the news a couple of nights ago and in court they were bringing up the crimes of Warren Jeffs, but the polygamists in attendance chose to leave the courtroom while it was being presented.  They refuse to believe Warren Jeffs did anything wrong, he is definitely who they still listen to.  Which may or may not be their demise.

It is a sad case of loyalty overwhelming what is right. I am told they don't even marry down there anymore. It seems to have become a place of fornication, as well as non-consensual sex/polygamy/rape. How can people keep following such as scriptural ? This is part of the reason I  feel it will collapse under its own weight - let's hope. I hope at the same time we extend a helping hand to the young men, women, and children affected, and let them know society is not all bad, and that there is a better life outside this sect.
