Please explain. With an answer I would expect from an infernal source with all the truthfulness that implies. I was going to respond to your personal jab with one of my own, but...nah.

Minus that back chaffing, I also heard it in a class at BYU from a representive for LDS humanitarian work that the church is actually fairly judicious about what it publicizes. Many of the bigger international disaster projects are specifically publicized or sent to wear the helping hands shirts because they're broadcasting their services and establishing a name as legitimate humanitarian services. It cuts down on the red tape and allows them entrance into areas that may not have happened as quickly. So no, this doesn't constitute back patting IMO.With luv,BD 6

A few years ago, the Church actually looked in to hiring a PR firm specifically to report when the Church doesn't do something, or does something bad. The contracted firm did some research and it was discovered that ex-Mormons were already providing that service for free, so the project was abandoned. 1
