Doctrine 612 Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 No offense, but the wierdest part of the whole story for me was when you asked a complete stranger if he wanted to study the scriptures together. Really?!?! I love scripture study, I might be in a realm of my own but, I ask tons of people if they want to study. I have a study group that meets every Saturday morning for a few hours, most of the group are gospel doctrine teachers, so we study the lessons and everyone shares there own understanding. I also must say I knew this man seemed troubled so that was why I asked him to study I thought it would be a good way to show him friendship. 4

KevinG Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I just found out that the Graham's of Scotland (of which I am a direct descendant - with the only female in the line being my paternal grandmother) have the J1e DNA marker shared with the Cohen line. Unusual since most Scots have the R1b markers common to other clans in Scotland. I would ask for the Bishopric but I don't want it. 2

It reminded me of when I was in the Air Force stationed at Hill AFB, Utah in 1980...and my family and I were attending Fast and Testimony mtg. Keep in mind this is when Star Wars was going great guns! My three boys were HUGE fans of course....well, this good sister ...sister mind you....got up right behind us and began a very sweet and heartfelt testimony, then as she was closing she says..."I want you all to know how much I love each and every one of you...and going forward from this day I will be known as, and addressed as OBI WAN Kanobi!! I kid you not! That got my boys attention!! Ya just never know!! 1
Doctrine 612 Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Update: I ran into the stake president and asked if he had talked with the man, he said no, but the man has been going around to diffrent wards and saying he is a son of Aaron, and also a few other crazy things. I asked, do you know who he is and where to find him. The sp said no, he is not even in the stake records. But if we see him again to inform the bishops.

Then he would repeatedly reference different texts that referred to them as "magi" and would defer every lesson with comments that always led back to this point. I always looked forward to the holiday season just for this reason. 1

What is this experience of watching and listening to them tell you about them as individuals. Any talk, even the most boring or repetitive, can then become interesting because it gives you information about the person.
