Kinda like an artificial life thing.
rpn Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Well, it won't be life, until or unless God ratifies it by putting a spirit into it. They've cloned living sheep (wasn't Dolly her name?).

Yes, Synthia is alive, her parent is a computer. Do you believe Synthia has a spirit? Rob Osborn Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Scientists will mever be able to create life without their intelligent input and intelligent actions first. Life does not arise on its own in nature from non life material.
thesometimesaint Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Scientists will mever be able to create life without their intelligent input and intelligent actions first. Life does not arise on its own in nature from non life material. Tautology. We will never get a man into space. This earth is man's sphere and it was never intended that he should get away from it. The moon is a superior planet to the earth and it was never intended that man should go there. You can write it down in your books that this will never happen.Joseph Fielding Smith
cinepro Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Okay, do you believe that scientists will create a body for a spirit? There are countless scientists who have already created bodies for spirits with their spouses and other significant others. The question you seem to want to ask is whether or not it is possible to create a legitimate "body" for a "spirit" using a means other than sexual reproduction. I don't know that we have an answer to that. The only way to find out is to try, and that certainly seems to be something that "scientists" are trying, so we'll probably find out pretty soon.

There is this thing called "scientific law" and part of that is what they call the "law of biogenesis". It has never been proved wrong. Go ahead and mock though, you only mock your own fellow scientists in their futile attempts to somehow show Pasteur got it wrong.
ERayR Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 So you do not believe scientists will create a body in the lab. No I don't. They will take some cells, clone them and declare they have.

Rob Osborn Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I do know that every single attempt to synthesize life in the lab that shows any success is only because of the intelligent design the scientists first put into place. Its kind of irony that by trying to purposefully prove intelligent design to be wrong they in fact prove it to be true. Complete irony! 1
Rob Osborn Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 If they really want to test for life spontaneously arising in the lab they should just do nothing and then wait billions of years. Dont hold your breath though...
Rob Osborn Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 The quest is truly to see if nature, on its own wthout any intelligent source or input, is capable of creating intelligent information. So far, it has been proven that intelligent information can only come from intellignce preceding it. God truly is great!
Judd Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 So is the underlying assumption that scientists (whatever that means) will create new life ex nihilo? That would be a fantastic proposition.

The scientists then created a short loop of DNA, called a plasmid, containing a single pair of the foreign bases, and inserted the whole thing into E. coli cells"Sounds a lot like intelligent design. Descriptions such as "engineered, scientists then created," show the intelligent plan and intelligent input used in the lab. 1
Rob Osborn Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 You link to a religionist and expect science to accept it?You are back to sounding like an atheist. Just confront the truth for a change, would ya?

Are you atheist?
CV75 Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I think it is possible, but only if God permits it. We've been creating new life for thousands of years in the form of hybrids in the lab of the filed and barnyard, and in the lab of the human womb.
