Missionary Pal

I want to give copies of the small black book Missionary Pal to 10 Missionaries, but I only have 1. I have seen some outrageous prices for these books on Amazon and was hoping that I can grovel here and hopefully I can get some philanthropic posters here to donate their old ones.Message me if that is a possibility.

I have a copy but I do not particularly like the book. If you were doing a book burning I might be willing to contribute.

While on my mission I used it for a quick reference. Yes, I lived before the internet.

I am pretty sure it died out when the Missionary library was codified. It's hard to sell a missionary book missionaries are not supposed to have. Is the Missionary Library still a thing?

 

I remember I was always getting in trouble over that.

On my mission I had no time to read anything BUT the scriptures, what with waking at dawn to shoo the rats and scorpions out of the bed , then eating a breakfast of dried cockroaches before heading out to walk 5 miles to our area .( uphill both ways in a rain storm ) We would arrive home to a late meal of gruel and tripe , then after a quick prayer, fall exhausted onto our straw mat beds , trying to ignore the swarms of mosquitos enjoying their blood feast! My missionary pal was a house snake that kept the rodent population at tolerable levels.

You youngsters and your rebellious ways.....humpf.

It was mostly over reading stuff outside at the library. That and the time I won all the money in my district playing Super-Hearts so no one but me could afford food. Learned a valuable lesson about gambling that day: Losers are whiners!

What other books that you had on your mission are no longer in print?  For me it was Mormon Doctrine.  One of my districts and I would have a small segment on our district meetings called "What Does Bruce say?"  We would then open up the book to a random page and read.,\
