VideoGameJunkie Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Because for some reason when I think of Telestial, Terrestrial, and Celestial Kingdoms, I think of fantasy settings, which includes castles for kingdoms with thrones, knights, etc in a medieval setting. But it would be cool if we had spaceships and science from the cosmos of science fiction too, so are we sitting on thrones in a castle kingdom, or are we using spaceships flying through the cosmos using technology?

I am pretty sure we can zip through creation without technology. If you build a starship it is a fashion statement. I expect to see a lot of starships.......

Ahab Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I don't envision Jesus using a space ship when he ascended into heaven, or any time when he came back after his resurrection. I'm sure we'll be able to build ships if we need or want one, though, like maybe when we want to transport creatures to a planet we are creating, but being able to go somewhere without any ship would be much better if the point is to just get there. And I don't know about you but I'm planning to build my home out of some kind of stone, which will be able to withstand all of the elements and won't ever need to be painted. And I'm sure I'll have some kind of comfortable chair, and some loveseats too, with a really awesome entertainment system. But instead of watching fictional stories I'll be watching was in really going on throughout the universe with some way to block the content that I wouldn't want my young children to watch. 1

I would imagine that there are lots of urim thummim, liahona, chariots of fire, and stone tablet engraving factories there... 1

With our glorified bodies and advanced state, we could literally go to the center of a star, or into a black hole, without harm. The universe will be our oyster filled with infinite pearls.

The universe will be our oyster filled with infinite pearls.I'm not saying this to spark debate or argue anything... but what you described is one of the saddest "losses" I had when I ceased believing. The universe is so awe inspiring, and the idea of moving throughout it at will seeing all the sights I looked forward to quite a bit. Now I believe that the Hubble shots, which are awe inspiring, is about as far as I will get. Here's hoping I'm wrong and you're right!

The closer to the speed of light one travels, the more your view of the universe all around you shrinks towards a single point in front of you. In other words, the whole universe is before you. Perhaps God is a relativistic being and has a starship.

They always have captains and spaceships instead. Then see what George Lucas has done with that in his Star Wars series (6 down, 3 more to come). The "Force" is so awesome that you can kill Obi Wan, but he continues to exist. Light sabers and Clones, yes, but something well beyond mere technology. Dare we speak of the Holy Spirit, the creation of worlds and solar systems (perhaps whole galaxies)? What are the limits to that power, which we describe so symbolically and metaphorically?

True, but time also slows down for those approaching the speed of light relative to those standing still so I think it illustrates the possibilities and the beginning of understanding how such a being might operate according to our limited understanding. Perhaps in addition to Relativistic we can also say superluminal.
