I'm taking a lot of medicine for a disease. Do you think I am confused? As to the Temple, I can do God's will with out it. I'm not called to go there.Sorry Ellen, maybe I misunderstood your previous post, and like others on this forum, it seems ok to disagree with things that are very basic to your faith. I am not LDS now, but when I joined the church I believed the Mormon view of God. I am sorry that you are taking medication, but as I had no way of knowing that, I didn't draw the conclusion that you were confused through its effects. Peace.

Some folks that are Mormon sort of interpolate some things and every time I have checked, no one has disagreed with me. The First Commandment is: "I am the Lord, thy God and thou shalt have no other God's before me". Mormon theology says that Heavenly Father is flesh and bone. I say that Heavenly Father can be flesh and bone is it suits him. Else, how could he do all that he has done? I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that is probably as close to understanding as humans will get here. No one understands the Holy Spirit that well. I know what it is like having the Holy Spirit talk to and guide me. Those interactions are the main reason I am Mormon. As to the Book of Mormon, it has as good a chance of being true as the 10 Commandments do. As to if Joseph Smith was a prophet, he has as much credence with me as any of the other Biblical and extra Biblical prophets have. Of course, I also believe that Muhammad PBUH was a prophet, and was in the line of Biblical Prophets. I do not believe he was the last one. Like Christianity, Islam soon strayed from the true path and is in ruins. I hope that true followers, lovers of peace, mercy, goodness will some day come. True followers of God are the ones who do his will. So, what caused you to abandon Mormonism? I have friends in Wales, and England who say that it is very tough to be religious in the UK. One of them has a particularly loathsome story to tell about Borstal.

It says you are an unprofitable servant even if you serve him with yourwhole soul. Gail

So I suspect the answer is for the OT a premortal Spirit who carried out the instructions of an ancient astronaut we refer to as Heavenly Father, and for most of the New Testament, that same Spirit in mortal or resurrected form. How is that for putting the topic back on track?

Nope, not buying into it. If I did, I know a hundred different ways to give up and kill myself. If you want to live that way, be my guest. I already did that for the first 60 years of my life, and then some fool Mormon missionaries suggested that there was a better way. Are you saying something different? OK, got home from the fireside that I rushed off to. So, you quoted Mosiah 2:21 but not 22. Why not? Are you Mormon? Were you deliberately taking that out of context?
