Jazzdreamer Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 All I remember thinking is "wow...I've made it to Stepford." And now I've become that person, it's just amusing to think about...
rpn Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Oh but if we all were to get to the point where we joyfully submitted our will to God's, we'd still be different in personality, and we'd still be at different levels of learning what submission to God entails.
Garden Girl Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 All I remember thinking is "wow...I've made it to Stepford." And now I've become that person, it's just amusing to think about...The more you get to know your sisters, the more you will see their individual personalities and talents... all of which we share on several occasions throughout the year... and as you participate here you will see that we have varying levels of understanding and faith... Yes, we do have certain standards that we adhere to, but that is only part of us. And we have a definite theology. In my ward, we have a Ward "talent show" from time to time. I always take some of my paintings and/or drawings... several sisters have musical talents... others are writers... quilters... or give a reading... or tell of a "project" they are working on in class or the workplace. I have found the sisters to be very interesting individuals when you have the time to see them outside of the Church setting on Sundays. GG

BCSpace Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Stepford? You should see how whipped the men of the Priesthood are when they discuss women in the 3rd hour of the block (or in some cases, the first).

rongo Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 We had a sister from the RS presidency teach the priesthood lesson on Relief Society this year.
halconero Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 There's such a huge variety out here in Toronto. They're in the process of making a YSA unit in downtown Toronto (there's one closer to the temple, about 45-50 minutes away in a suburb), and during the mean time I go to the Spanish family ward. The women there are these down to earth, awesome Latinas. They love to dance, make food and the ward is just a constant salsa party. Even in Relief Society there's a big difference between their meetings, Happy Valley, Utah RS meetings, and northern British Columbian branch RS meetings (where I originally come from).
