Bernard Gui Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 If control is the greatest expression of power, is evil more powerful than good?Where does self-control fit in?
Bernard Gui Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Right now the Devil rules with blood and horror.Indeed.
CV75 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 What is "the power of godliness?"To me, it is everything the power (and control) of a machine is not and can never be.
The Nehor Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 You have a problem with "under God"...our country needs God...the two you cite are not linked Joe McCarthy did not add it.No, but he was allied with those who did. The movement also massively strengthened public schooling, primarily to teach patriotism and keep children from becoming godless commies. What is "the power of godliness?"Power of control won through respect and righteousness exercised without compulsion over the elements.
Ahab Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 A Lexus commercial is causing heads to turn-not at the spiffy car but at the statement, "the ultimate expression of power is control." Granted, it's ostensibly about the power of the car's motor, but there are hints of the relationship between control and power in other areas of life.Is control the ultimate expression of power?http://lexusenthusia...l-synchronized/Power is the ability to do work, and control is the act of using that power to do some work. If you have power that you can't control then you can't do anything to use the power you have and you would be better off without the power.I think that's part of the reason we're here, btw. God wants to see how well we develop control before he gives us his power.
Calm Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 The movement also massively strengthened public schooling, primarily to teach patriotism and keep children from becoming godless commies. If they only knew what the future held.
