See If This Validates With The Holy Spirit

What you are saying leaves out the prophets:

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:36-40)

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Galatians 5:14)

The prophets cannot be excluded from the formula (what you propose only recognizes the law); the prophets (their keys) also hang on the two commandments, together. This is a Gospel of reconciliation and unity.

We are talking about law and prophets, and of the first and second commandments -- four interacting components.

Apparently (it seems to me) that this distinction is not significant because the Holy Spirit did not make this distinction.

Does this appear to anyone else to be in conflict with peteolcott's belief that only a select few can comprehend God?

That paraphrase is erroneous. I more apt paraphrase within the context of this thread is that none get righteousness exactly correctly. Along with this is one of the reasons why none get righteousness exactly correctly, the doctrine of no church is infallibly perfect.

Depends on the context.

That is not true. The single sentence taken by itself: "God does not exist: would either contradict or supersede the rest of the bible.

And by "none" you mean "nothing"...

I am wondering given the consistent misunderstanding of your language that you believe or at least intend to be precise, what you think are the reasons for so many misunderstanding you.

I see that you are a "Dry Mormon" -- I assure you that once you get the Gift of the Holy Ghost, the distinction will be made. Come join with us, good brother.

It depends on the context. If, for example, this imaginary sentence was a statement by one of the wicked, then taking it completely by itself would entirely distort the message.

PO, what would you do with a sentence in the Bible that appeared to you to contradict everything else that was discussed in the Bible?

I think that this may be an exception to that rule.

It seems to me that my message is directly from God and intended for the entire world.

So you see yourself as a prophet or at least some one who has received a global revelation and who has been called to preach it to the world then? Edited by calmoriah

I would, but, we have to both first tune in more precisely to the same spirit first.

LDS seem to me to have righteousness much more correctly than any other Christian sect.

According to what seems to me to be coming from the Holy Spirit it is my job to fine tune the doctrine so that all of humanity is on the same page of the best criterion measure of righteousness.

(1) Determine if it has any significant bearing on righteousness.

(2) Resolve the apparent contradiction as needed. Most often contradictions become paradoxes.

The key is to see things from God's own point of view.

And why is it your job and not someone else's, like the prophet's?

I find many self-proclaimed/called preachers/messiahs (those who see themselves as bringing others to the truth in one way or another) difficult to accept as such because I don't feel the love or connection that I have seen evidence of in others performing the same work, such as when I read the scriptures or hear the words of many telling us to put our love of others into action and then seeing them act as they teach or even better those who teach solely through their actions.

I especially find preachers that solely focused on the 'doctrine' rather than the 'doing' problematic, especially if there is no real reaching out but rather more of a 'look at me on this pedestal, if you want to be saved, you must become like me' attitude.

If you want to spread a message of love, perhaps you need to finetune your approach so that people actually desire to follow your message before you start attempting to finetune doctrine.

So no, this so far has not been validated by the Holy Spirit for me, it is instead an game of words and ideas.

Christ went among the people and became one with them to the best of his and their ability. He did not set himself apart by using parables such as describing himself as a traveler who had gone where no man had gone before and came back with a message that no one else comprehended. You continually set yourself up not only as an example of truth, but as an exception....contrary to how Christ taught it seems to me. One does not draw others to the truth or to love by pulling oneself away, in my experience.

This is accomplsihed by having the Gift of the Holy Ghost in addition to a witness from the Holy Ghost.

It seems to me that the Holy Spirit has forbidden me from getting baptised until the LDS church makes some slight changes, correcting imperfections.

The Holy spirit is telling me that there is not nearly enough emphasis on Love and far too much emphasis on sin.

If this does not validate with you, then it may very well be that I have not yet communicated it in the right way.

Holy Spirit does not equal every thought that enters your brain and seems kind of nice.

So you have been called to be a prophet to correct a minor problem of emphasis? That is arrogant, humble, and silly all at the same time.

What is the timing between your original conclusion about the OP in 1991, your coming acquainted with the Church, the invitation and consideration to be baptized, and the decision not to be baptized?

The things that I say are only valid for you to the same extent that they are confirmed in your own heart.

These things have been ringing true in my heart for 21 years.

If my message is false then there already is plenty enough (or too much) love in the world, otherwise my message is true.

More love in the world! How could that possibly be anything besides an improvement?

LDS have proven to be the most receptive to my message. They all agree that Love is the most important thing.

One day, the Pope put out an urgent call that all the Cardinals were to meet at once in Rome. This was, of course, very unusual. They gathered in the Sistine Chapel and there was much speculation about why they had been called together as they waited for the Pope. When the Pope arrived he said, "I've got some good news and some bad news for you. The good news is that Jesus Christ has returned to earth. I haven't seen Him yet but I've spoken to Him on the telephone." The Cardinals sat in stunned silence for a fairly long time, then one of them asked the Pope, "But, Holy Father, if that's the good news what bad news can there possibly be?" And the Pope answered, "He was calling from Salt Lake City."

They were fully integrated. God has been telling me this same message for 21 years and lead me to the LDS church about four years ago. The message that he has been telling me prevents some of the baptismal requirements from being fullfilled. I have chosen to obey his spirit above all else. You seem very sincere and caring.

You need to review the board guidelines. No preaching and no judging others' if you want to remain on board.

This is called a false dichotomy.

Not at all:

if the quantity of Love is not >= Enough, then it must only be < Enough.

The LDS Church is not perfect, and never will be. But it is true insofar as the keys and priesthood authority are there. If you wait until the Church is "perfect," that time I think will never come.

Are you saying that for 17 years you held to the original understanding of the scriptures that you’ve been citing (that love is ultimately the only divine thing to share, and to your call share that simple message with the world), and then God led to the Church, and then God forbid you to join the Church until it changed in some way? (Yes, I am sincere and caring).

No this view has been held since 1991, thus 21 instead of 17 years.

The message is not that Love is the only divine thing to share.

The message itself prevents fulfilling some of the baptismal requirements.
