They almost brought the Nephites down 400 years earlier but the advent of Jesus Christ and what happened with that blocked them.However all that is for another thread. Don't need to derail this one.I have to disagree with your assessment of them as effective. They brought down two civilizations not because they worked but because they were bunglers. Secret Combinations are dangerous because if enough people unite with them the people fall not because those in charge of them are masterminds or are even competent. Virtually everyone who participated in them didn't get what they wanted. I am pretty sure Gadianton was not trying to destroy Nephite society. He just wanted to rule it.

I also thought that the Irish problem ,that had festered for 400 years,could only be solved by nuclear or biological devastation.I still think that is the only way to fix the Israeli/Palestinian situation.

The man had a gun and opened fire at at the guard but the guard and bystanders wrestled him to the ground.Fox News reported that the case is being treated as a case of "domestic terrorism."The FBI is investigating and they have the shooter, who received bullet wounds himself, in custody. His identity has not been released, but Fox News said he was "posing as an intern." Fox News reports that witnesses say the shooter was speaking out against the Family Research Council's Pro-Life, Pro-Family agenda as he tried to enter the building. Thankfully, the guard fought back, even after being shot, and was able to wrestle the shooter to the ground and took the gun.
