I'M New--An Introduction

Hello,

I'm a new member here at MD.

A few salient facts about me by way of introduction. I am LDS, born and raised though my father was Greek orthodox for my early years. I am a woman, married with two children. I am a retired attorney, graduate of BYU two times over, returned sister missionary (where I did not find my husband, as I was told I should not hope to find by a senior sister in my parents' ward).

I love talking about the gospel and learning about other faith traditions and I'm happy to have found a forumn where religious discussions can occur in a hopefully respectful manner (different than the typical comment threads in news articles where three posts in someone unleashes the now trite diatribe (each get our own planets, polygamy, Joe Smith the lying philanderer, a Brigham Young quote on Adam/God, etc). This is not to imply that I am not interested in studying early church history or Kolob or Kokaubeams or discussing them. I am. I hope to dive right in, though I will probably mostly lurk for a while.

Thank you moderators for creating and managing this forum.

Thanks.

I've been reading posts and getting a feel for things around here. Now I need to find a cool picture for my avatar--I'm thinking Emmaline B. Wells.

I believe that becoming like God simply means to be glorifed like him. Nothing else interest me.

Welcome Sunshine! I would love to hear what you have to say, because though i am LDS, I am very interested in Orthodoxy, and would love to hear your experiences!

A highly educated Mormon mother who is interested in rational discussion of Mormonism?

According to the critics you aren't supposed to exist. (Between you and me I know there are a lot of you).
