What To Do When Validation Page Pops Up.

As you know we have had to implement a filtering service for the site. Since it is an automated service you may not be able to reach the site but instead get a page asking for you to validate that you are a real user trying to access the site not a spambot or botnet zombie. If you get this page and having problems you can always type in a message on the form that I will see to add your network to the trusted network list. Please put in your site username so I can make sure to get all ip's you are visiting from. We are sorry for this inconvenience but just like the tsa it has become a necessary evil.

No we do not feel the need for modified pat downs procedures at this time but reserve the right to do so if needed for the good of the community.

I have noticed I cannot edit my posts, and when I reply to one, any of the graphic menu functions- like the quote bubble, smileys, font changes etc. in the little blue box above where you type your reply, do not work- I see the blue box and the functions, but they are "greyed" out.

Typing quote boxes works, typed smilies work, but anything in the blue area above the typed area does not work. Fun fun.

OOps - editing seems to work sometimes and not others, varying perhaps by thread.

That's the "frustration" setting for some of our most special posters. (Just kidding)

In the upper left-hand corner, there is a small button (tooltip: "Toggle editing mode") that may turn the features on/off as you click it.

Give it a try.

On your instructions re: what to do... you said to type a message, including your site username... what is a site username? You mean like Earthlink?

I always get a bit of kick out of messages like this that tell people what to do if they can't get on the site. Of course, if they can't get on the site, they can't read the instructions. But I'm certain that the administrators here have made provisions for that. ;)
