Nemesis Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I was unable to find a way to change or delete my avatar- and there have been other posts about that, but I haven't seen any answers about that?Am I right or did I just miss the answer? Also, it appears that email notifications are off again. But truly - thanks Nemesis for all your work. It has to be a thankless task! Tell the boss I authorized giving you a raise! Most servers only allow a certain amount of connections a minute. If you are subscribing to the entire board your mail server may cut us off from connecting anymore. So I suggest if you are doing that to try to use digest mod.Nemesis

mercyngrace Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Ok we implemented some new security features that may block users from the board. If you know this is happening to legitimate posters please let me know.NemesisI've been blocked since I posted the message above (7 hours ago) using IE but was able to access the page without any trouble using google chrome. With IE, I was getting a "502 Bad Gateway" message.
BCSpace Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I don't see any quote, url, or image options nor are there any editing functions like bold or text color. Settings?
BCSpace Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I have to do it by hand even when I use "More Reply Options"
LeSellers Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) I can't figure out how to make the url feature work.It used to be that the tags Ipsit lorum herewould give use something that looks like this:Ipsit lorum here. The underlined text was a hot link to a website. Not so now, as far as I can determine. Now you can only give the whole website ("url"), without the "here" (which could be a description of what one would find there. I can't even see the underlying code so I oculd mimic it. It looks like this (I think):This results inhttp://sepschool.comwhich is okeh, but lacks the completeness and informatoin of the earlier method.Nor am I able to keyboard some things at all (the url thang being among them). I must use the tools, which I find cumbersome.I was able to keyboard all the commands, and could correct anything that was odd or ill-formed. Now I must redo the whole thing when I make a mistake (which has happened several times today). We had the choice of plain text or direct coding (not sure how to explain it), and I much preferred the keyboarding technicque. If it's still there, I'd really appreiciate help in finding it.Oh, and what do the bullets (stars and circles) in the left-hand column mean?Lehi Edited September 20, 2011 by LeSellers
Deborah Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 (edited) I figured out that stars are threads we have responded in with new responses. Not sure about the bullets. Edited September 20, 2011 by Deborah
LeSellers Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I figured out that stars are threads we have responded in. Not sure about the bullets. It looked like that might have been the case. The dot bullets are still a mystery.Lehi
Calm Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 If you mean the dot that is there instead of the star at times, that means new posts are in the thread, but you haven't commented on it yet, I believe.
Calm Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I have to do it by hand even when I use "More Reply Options"Are you using an Ipad?I noticed there was awhile during which if I switched back and forth (hard to edit on an Ipad) that I lost the editing and text options for a bit even if I was using my laptop. Then it suddenly appeared again after two laptop posting and I haven't had any further problems, at least on the laptop. They still don't show on the pad even when not in 'mobile' mode.I have a question on how to see the other theme allowed, so far the only theme options I can find are mobile and regular.
BCSpace Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I have to do it by hand even when I use "More Reply Options"Are you using an Ipad? No. A desktop. But I just remembered to try a different browser and now I get the editing tools.
Calm Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 That might be my issue as well since I use firefox on the laptop and safari on the ipad.
Calm Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 That might be my issue as well since I use firefox on the laptop and safari on the ipad.Nope, comes up on Safari as well.Glad you found something that works for you though.
Deborah Posted September 21, 2011 Author Posted September 21, 2011 Argggh~I accidently clicked on the little wavy quote thing in front of the topic and it's showing the whole section as read! How do I undo it?
Calm Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Argggh~I accidently clicked on the little wavy quote thing in front of the topic and it's showing the whole section as read! How do I undo it?Don't....at least I didn't find any. I did that a few times too, too used to it being "new".
70sBasement Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 It is new to me. The only thing I don't like about it is the format is set wider than my screen so I have to scroll back and forth to read the text. Hopefully, there is a way to fix that. Thanks, -Wade Englund-I'm new here, but you seriously need a new computer, Wade.
Stargazer Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 One big improvement I have noticed is that when I follow links in posts it no longer opens a new tab with the link AND sends the origin tab to the new link as well. It was doing this in IE9 in the earlier version we were using. It operates as expected now. It wasn't doing this in FF, just IE. But I prefer IE to FF, so it was annoying to me when it happened.
CARPE DIEM Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Is it just me or does the board look completely different? What a change! No more spelling function either?
