It shows officers shooting the suspect.

I read about it. I was really hoping it omitted that part. Including it seems unfortunate.

I won't show it here but do a search on YouTube for

"Michigan church shooting: Police releases bodycam video of officers responding to attack"

It shows officers shooting the suspect. Warning that it is a little graphic.

It's completely off screen. [The body cam of the officer shooting the suspect is not looking straight forward, its pointed right, centered on another person/officer by a tree with a gun. When the shots are fired the cam is still pointed at a different person.]

This was posted in a Deseret News article dated October 17, 2025, 4:07 p.m. MDT:  ‘God’s hand, untouched.’ A photographer finds light in the darkness of a burned Latter-day Saint church.

The video is a photo documentary of the debris from the fire at the church in Michigan.  It includes photos such as this one (open to the hymn, "I Stand All Amazed") :

And this one, which seems to be appropriately open to "Master the Tempest is Raging" :

But this is one of the images that stood out to her:

The video is worth watching.

Seems to be almost but not quite saying these are some kind of divine sign which is kind of weird. Pictures were nice though.

People looking for reassurance are probably going to see such things (rightly or wrongly) as evidence of God paying attention, which can feel important after experiencing something traumatic.  It may be more peace giving to believe for many God is aware of us even if he didn’t step in to save the day.

It would be interesting to see if pictures are treated with any finish that doesn’t easily burn since there have been several incidents where they have pulled out pictures (it’s the scientist in me, just because something can be explained doesn’t mean it’s not a gift of peace).

Just checked AI and it seems that sometimes mass produced prints are treated with a fire retardant.  This may or may not be the case here.

Looking at the picture, it may be covered with acrylic which can also resist burning at lower temps.
