FAIR conference 2025–starts Aug 6, streaming is available
Tacenda replied to Calm's topic in General Discussions
I'm really interested in this one, too late for the in person but there's streaming, yay! -
I'm on your side of this! We need to be in their world, those with dementia. They are often living far in the past with their memories and that would most likely be when your daughter was active. I also think lying is a good thing if it is making a situation better for someone. Such as giving a compliment we may be not entirely honest about. And other ways as well, as long as it's not hurting someone.

I like to give cash, but now I'm wondering how much, usually $100 is what I give, but maybe that's not as much as it use to be.

What They Talk About: "The Commitment Pattern"

I listened to this and think Greg Prince made some great suggestions for the church, that I hope can be implemented. -
What They Talk About: "The Commitment Pattern"

I agree! I hope there's not a lot of pressure for the missionaries to get numbers. It seemed to be a thing in the past. I think the girls didn't quite know the significance of joining the church. They definitely needed to be aware of what they were agreeing to do or be. This has been a problem in the past, with a lot of people getting baptized but not staying active and I thought the church was working on making changes to help this not happen. Missionaries are for the most part very loveable and can indeed make one want to help and not disappoint. -
I don't mind a show like this, such as finding someone that had something to do with his wife. Now can't remember, was she killed or missing? What I don't like is on Netlix these movies that have a different type feel with their filming equipment. Hard to explain. The format or ? So I will give it another chance maybe. And the main male lead, now just forgot his name...was really good at playing Freddie Mercury in the movie about Queen, but I can't think of other movies he's played in at the moment. Just not my favorite male lead, so I guess that didn't help.

I started to watch but lost interest. Maybe I better try again!

I did that a couple years ago, and you're right.

What They Talk About: Christians "Poaching" Ex-Mormons
Tacenda replied to Pyreaux's topic in General Discussions
⬆️ Count me in, if I want to get religion or go back to church, I'd have to go to the LDS church. -
Oh, I had no idea, interesting. Hope that doesn't happen, she loves to be in the spotlight and spread her evil.

So glad you posted Brooklyn, and hope it's a good experience from it. I'm not too far behind you in age, but inside I still feel young and immature. I love this board for helping me with intellect and teaching me many things. I hope you get out of the board many things you'd hope to.

I sure loved what the judge told her!! This video will be a long one, because it has the victims' family's speaking to Lori and it was very needed! Skip to the end where the judge encapsulates it so well and puts the nail in that coffin.

Deleted...maybe too political. -
I hope if your husband does "ask to be released", the bishop will allow it. My husband did that once and the bishop wouldn't let him be released. It was in the High Priest presidency. 😄

My personal one is that they are behind the Project 2025 deal that is the map for whomever will put it in place. And they are more or less a white supremacy group (but not as much as in the past). They believe that all must be Christian in the USA or are possibly going to hell, if not. Which is nice that our religion is more compassionate about our members not going to hell if they don't believe. And they don't have love for all people, they don't believe in the Founding Fathers' words about freedom of religion and they don't support our constitution and are trying to change it. They want to force the individuals in the USA to love their country no matter what and they don't believe in the individual's freedom of thought. They are already having schools put up the Ten Commandments. They are basically killing women because they won't allow abortions no matter what, even if the baby has died in the womb and the mother may die from it. You should read about Debbie Reynolds nearly dying from being denied back in the day. And now we are going backwards to those days again. And women aren't considered equal to men. So many more things, but I'll leave it there for now. Since I like the AI one I posted on the definition of a Christian Nationalist. Here's the video I didn't dare share because it showed my FB profile, but with the help of Calm, I think I'm safe because I only see it, not everyone. Don't want anyone hunting me down. Thanks again @Calm, that was kind of you. Here's the post I like, and Jesus would agree, IMO. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/199ny6JFUc/ -

I hope this helps, I was trying to share the video with the young man's opinion on here w/o giving my identity away. Hope this works: ETA: Oh, it's still showing my identity. I will edit again hopefully. ETA again: Here's the AI response I like. Universal Gospel: The Bible emphasizes a universal gospel message that transcends national boundaries and calls for love and service to all people, regardless of their nationality or background. Kingdom of God: Christianity focuses on the "Kingdom of God," which is not synonymous with any earthly nation. The Bible teaches that the true allegiance of Christians is to God's kingdom, which is not limited to a specific country. Warning against Idolatry: Christian nationalism can be seen as a form of idolatry, prioritizing the nation above God and distorting Christian faith. Jesus' Teachings: Jesus' teachings emphasize love, compassion, and justice, which should be applied to all people, not just those within a particular nation. Focus on Individual Conversion: The Bible emphasizes individual conversion and a personal relationship with God as the path to salvation, not national identity or affiliation. While some Christians may hold nationalistic views, these views are not supported by biblical teachings. Christians Against Christian Nationalism is an organization that actively opposes Christian nationalism and offers resources for understanding its dangers. -

I know without a shadow of doubt, that the Jesus I believe would never agree with Christian Nationalists. -

Edited out an Instagram video, maybe I will find another way to share it, because it's so good. It shows my FB account I believe. The epitome of what Jesus does, but Christian Nationalists go against. -
Church of Jesus Christ sees record growth in global membership

Haha, I may have deserved that. -
Not the same scenario, but before I took out the endowments in the temple I wasn't told what I would be covenanting to do beforehand. I couldn't research that unless I found some anti place.
