This does not negate your claim for "having a nose" for lie detection. It's good to know your detection was more on point after your initial opinion. Detecting is such hard work.

Okay well if you say so. 🤷‍♀️

Btw i'm going to bed. I've done a lot today. Walked 9,1 km all the way to the coast to injoy the sea view. That's super far and now i'm tired. Good night.

The problem is that it is hard to lay aside the drama to see the real him.

This.  As long as I just saw pictures of him, he seemed a good guy (he reminded me of someone I felt positive about).  Once I saw him talking….

That is great!  I would love to have a walk that ended at the beach.  Exercise is good for the mood, keep it up if you can

I could walk up into the hills which is not bad even if nowhere as appealing as the beach, but the incline gets me both ways, lol

doubt using attractive young female volunteers in a "couple's ruse" is part of that playbook.

I wonder if this puts them more at risk for being accused of entrapment

I am going to clean out the freezer…not quite as pleasant, but very satisfying when done.  I have even bought new organizers to help (if they can’t see it, it doesn’t exist for my husband and daughter while I prefer everything hidden in nice, as little as possible containers…alas they can’t really adapt as even labels don’t really work for them, so I must)

Sleep well

Added:  the freezer looks fantastic. I have put a moratorium on buying any animal protein until half of it is gone, so food bill should go down a bit for a month or two.  We finished so quickly my helper is making two quiches and a breakfast casserole for the next week (my husband keeps buying ham even though we rarely eat it, so that is the first mountain to be eroded.)

Ballard’s tactics are vaguely what many imagine entrapment to be but entrapment isn’t an easy defense. Entrapment requires multiple elements that rarely apply.

Ballard’s standard sting seems to be to contact someone to arrange a sex party with minors, these people supply the minors, they get busted. These minors are rarely permanent sex slaves locked up somewhere. They are often living at home. Often the parents are complicit. Once the bust is concluded the children are “rescued” and go home until the next job shows up. This is why the approach is so ineffective. Ballard is basically creating the market and then shutting it down. Only rarely is a child liberated in any permanent sense.

However Ballard and his team and the amateurs they pulled in get to be part of an exciting sting operation and it looks impressive as long as you don’t look too closely and just assume that everything is better afterwards without actually checking.

Also it should be very clear that you don’t need an ‘erotically convincing’ spouse to do any of this. That is something Ballard made up because he likes being pervy.

I remember reading/hearing that Ballard allowed his returned missionary son to go to a strip club in Salt Lake, to prepare his son before taking the son to future raids that he was preparing him for. Bad form as a parent I would think.

The lawsuit alleges Ballard did this with his son and the women who had to pretend they were in a relationship with them. He had them give him lap dances, took them to get massages with escorts, and a bunch of other stuff. He also insisted that they drink alcohol to get used to doing it for the ruse but to spit it into his mouth during a kiss and he would spit it out later. He reportedly never did spit it out. Also these trips to strip clubs were funded by donors.

There were several investigations into OUR a few years back for funneling donor money into profit making ventures. These were killed by the Utah AG who was also the person who endorsed Ballard for a seat in the Senate.

I have spoken to two people who worked with OUR. Both told me Ballard is a creepy sex pest and his casual conversations are laced with misogynistic sex jokes. One said he couldn’t prove it but would bet money on Ballard being a pedophile himself based on various behaviors and off-hand comments.

I'd forgotten these things. Yes, there is something to these eye witness accounts. I can imagine all of these former friends/coworkers/women who wanted OUR to do what they thought it would do and then see these evil things happening instead had to be so difficult.
