Popular Post Okrahomer Posted March 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted March 5, 2024 I think we may have had an instance this Sunday past, where “small and simple things” (see Alma 37:6) brought about great things. It came in the form of two 8-year-old testimonies: First, a highly-intelligent and surprisingly articulate 8-year-old Latter-day Saint named Loulou stood to bare her testimony. She wanted to tell us how difficult it was for her to accept the death of her beloved grandfather. With a voice of pure honesty: “He was my best friend.” And then with amazing spiritual clarity, she explained how she had prayed to ask Heavenly Father to help her. She recounted without tears (which is more than I can say for myself) but in breathless wonder: “I learned that he is not gone — he is still here in my heart, and always will be, because I will never forget him. And I will see him again some day.” Immediately after Loulou, another 8-year-old Latter-day Saint stood to offer his testimony. In a slightly less articulate way, he wanted to offer comfort to Loulou: “We will see our grandparents again someday, because grandparents aren’t like cats. When cats go, they’re really gone.” 6

bluebell Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 I refuse to believe that when cats go they're really gone! 4
Calm Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 (edited) Someone needs to teach the kid some solid doctrine. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/77?lang=eng Quote 1–4, Beasts have spirits and will dwell in eternal felicity… They are limited to four individual beasts, which were shown to John, to represent the glory of the classes of beings in their destined order or sphere of creation, in the enjoyment of their eternal felicity. I am not sure the verse actually means what the summary says it means (figurative beasts may represent a different class of being than mortal animals), but why not go for it with kids. Okrahomer Posted March 17, 2024 Author Posted March 17, 2024 We had to put an old feline friend down this past Fall — we both bawled. I tend to believe animals live on as well. I sure hope so anyway. 2

I sure hope so anyway. I hear they do, from those that had near death experiences! Hope so, I need to see my furbabies that have passed. They are so in tune and loving...better than humans, lol. My dog Shelly, a rescue dog, was amazing when my dad died of a heart attack. It's like she knew what happened, and stayed with me constantly. Something heavenly about that I'm sure, and maybe God will make it happen hopefully! 3
